Darryl Edwards:, external Glad Mr 'Park The Bus Anti-Football' got his just desserts today! I'm glad Manchester United scored - and that is saying something from a Liverpool fan!

Chris Cunningham:, external Shows how far United have fallen though, celebrating dropping two home points to remain 10 points behind like they'd just won the league.

Carlo Buen:, external Phil Dowd saved them. Look at how many yellow cards he gave and the clear penalty he didn't.

Kevin Francis: For all the defensive shambles throughout this season, this could be the turning point of Manchester United's season!

Charles: Chelsea almost played out the perfect Jose Mourinho gameplan - 1-0 away from home, but they never pushed and really threatened a second and made defensive substitutions after an hour played. United worked hard for each other and deserved a point. The two goalkeepers were outstanding and it took set pieces to create both the goals.

Shaun, Dronfield: Please take off the anti-Manchester United spectacles. They were the better team in the first half and were fully deserving of a point. Louis van Gaal will bring about the necessary improvements and United will make the top four.

Jose Mourinho is fronting up to the television cameras. He is not a happy bunny.

He has beef with throw-ins, free-kicks not given to his side and Branislav Ivanovic's second yellow card. "If I say what is in my heart, I will get in trouble," he says.

He has only praise for his players though.

    Full quotes coming up.

Andy Hall:, external Jose Mourinho's plan? Sends Manchester United into the Manchester City game fired up and Branislav Ivanovic gets to rest v Shrewsbury?

Matt Donn 123:, external Annoys me as Jose always decides to shut up shop when we should go for the jugular. United and Man City game is evidence.

Rob Meech:, external Is Robin van Persie trying to get in Louis van Gaal's good books by copying his hairstyle?

Judging by his shake of the head in reaction to Robin van Persie's goal, Mourinho didn't plan that all Andy.

Manchester United goalscorer Robin van Persie:

"It's a bit of a mixed feeling - we could have won today. I had two chances early in the game. I'm always thinking positive and going for the next chance, luckily it [the chance for the goal] fell to my feet.

"We should have won today to gain some points, but in the end we can be happy with the draw.

"It gets better every single day doing training. We are very comfortable on the ball and playing better, but we have to stretch that game for longer. Now we have to try to play like that for one and half hours.

    Can United catch Chelsea?

"Of course we can, it's still a long way. It's not even half way."

"That is a big goal. For Manchester United, for Louis van Gaal, for the Premier League. I don't think United are a million miles away, and will qualify for next season's Champions League."

That result is good news for the competitiveness of the title race though.

A win would have put Chelsea six points clear of second-placed Southampton, eight clear of Manchester City and 11 ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool.

As it is, take two off all those numbers.

Chelsea Warrior:, external The way this ended reminds me of the little horse analogies last term. We could have won this with more positivity. Gutted.

Rishabh Kapoor:, external Marouane Fellaini is a different player from last season. Clearly more dangerous in the opposition half than his own. Credit Louis van Gaal for faith.

"In a game of few chances Chelsea were the better team and the goals came from two set-pieces. Chelsea were tactically spot on, they were big and powerful and creative when they needed to be, but scored from a corner when Rafael was marking Didier Drogba. How can that happen?

"And then for the equaliser it was the best player on the pitch who got the initial header on target - Marouane Fellaini - a great save by Thibaut Courtois but it fell to Robin van Persie and he reacted quickest to smash it into the goal. United kept going, but they did seem to lack a pace and energy."

Phew. How do you decipher that one then?

United had looked like they were being ushered out of the contest. They were short on ideas, and Chelsea were containing them quite comfortably.

That late goal though sends the home fans home on a high, but does it hide some pretty big flaws in their side?

    Bedlam at Old Trafford.

Angel Di Maria serves up a dolly of a free-kick and Marouane Fellaini meets it with a full-blooded header.

Thibaut Courtois makes the save, pushing the ball out into the six-yard box from where Robin van Persie blasts home to spark wild celebrations.

It never looked like coming, but the equaliser arrives at the death.
