Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BT Sport: "We were punished for a mistake and that is what cost us the game. We passed the ball well. The options in front of the ball were good but we probably lacked that little bit in the final third of the field. We did not create as much as we would have liked.
"It is not about Mario Balotelli, it is about the team. We lost the game today. We collectively lost as a team and we are disappointed at that."
On Balotelli running on to the pitch just before kick-off at the start of the second half: "It had no bearing at all on the result."
Chelsea going unbeaten? It would be an incredible achievement...

"The real challenge in going a whole Premier League season unbeaten is that on any given day you can lose to any team in the Premier League. It is very difficult to match what Arsenal achieved in 2004.
"Chelsea have a chance though, and they do have an air about them. Jose Mourinho sets a certain standard and he will not let it slip. Even when 6-0 up in the Champions League they do not let up, a bit like Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United."
Tony Pulis
Former Stoke manager on BBC Radio 5 live at Stamford Bridge
"Chelsea have really taken off this season. Jose Mourinho will be happy with the way his squad are performing, but he will want to keep them on their toes so I expect he will still want a couple more players in January."
Liverpool travel to Real Madrid in midweek. Yossi Benayoun headed the winner for them on their last visit. Could there be an unlikely hero again this time?
Steve Bower
BBC Match of the Day commentator
"It was a tight game settled by Ayoze Perez's strike, and Newcastle could have had a second if Simon Mignolet had not foiled Remy Cabella.
"Liverpool rarely carried a goal threat and they begin a huge week with games against Real Madrid and Chelsea to come, but this was all about Newcastle's momentum continuing. Alan Pardew will feel very different tonight."
QPR have lost only one of their last five matches against Chelsea in the Premier League - a 6-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in April 2012. Can they see off Chelsea today?
Former Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince
Football Focus
"Chelsea do have great strength in depth, but for me Diego Costa is vital. Loic Remy has done well, Didier Drogba always gets you goals but to say Chelsea will go unbeaten is a little bit too much for me. But they do look strong.
"Thibaut Courtois was brilliant at Atletico Madrid last season, and he has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water. He has been absolutely phenomenal. When you think how well Petr Cech did last year, and still Jose Mourinho was prepared to drop him."
It's presentation o'clock in the Premier League. Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick - one of the greatest names in football - hands over a charity-style big cheque to a member of the armed forces, while Diego Costa is handed a gong of some description at Stamford Bridge.
All aboard for the main event?

"Four wins on the bounce for Newcastle. The answer is not always to sack the manager."
François Bruwier:, external It sounds like YNWA means You'll Never Win Anything as long as Brendan Rodgers keeps playing one up front.
Nic Billot:, external Even Daniel Sturridge won't be able to fix a problem like Liverpool right now.
Ajaya Neupane:, external Can't even dare to think where Liverpool are going end this season. It gives me shivers!
Former Blackpool and England defender Jimmy Armfield
BBC Radio 5 live at St James' Park
"When the goal came the match came to life but prior to that we were waiting for something to happen. Newcastle got it through persistence as much as anything. Liverpool had more of the ball but frankly the real threat up front was not there. They are short of goal power and I was disappointed by them today.
"A great result for Newcastle and a few anxious moments ahead for Liverpool. I think Brendan Rodgers is wrestling with getting the balance of his team right."
QPR midfielder Joey Barton
"Been a change of plan. Heading now to Brentford v Derby. Couldn't get a ticket for Chelsea v QPR? No joke."
Someone in the ticket office will be hiding on Monday morning...
David: So, after the doom laden coverage, it turns out that Newcastle are not too bad after all. Who's the next crisis club?
Andy: I still want Alan Pardew out. We need a change of ownership so we can begin to compete at the right level. Pardew is Mike Ashley's preferred man: he's tactically naive, negative in his approach to most games, and frequently an embarrassment on the touchline (see incidents with linesmen, Pellegrini, Meyler, etc), but he stays because he doesn't criticise Mike's regime. Time for change.
Liverpool really were poor, no other word for it. Newcastle were functional, but that's about it, on their way to a fourth-straight win. Can Liverpool get more Champions League football next season?
Ben Smith
BBC Sport
"Liverpool look a shadow of side that played with such vim and vigour last season. Steven Gerrard the best of a bad bunch."
