BBC Sport"To score goals you have to gamble with your movement and possess a real desire. I suspect Harry Kane has such attributes. It'd be good to find out."
Keane on Kane?published at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2014
16:52 GMT 2 November 2014Asked whether there is more pressure to play Harry Kane earlier this week, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said: "Always. He is English, he is young and from the Tottenham academy so it is normal."
The Argentine coach added: "If we were in Argentina, he was an Argentine player and playing with two foreign strikers, it would always be a sensitive situation.
"We understand he is a special player for Tottenham and for our supporters.
"My decision (on team selection) is always about my analysis on the training and after to give the balance to the team and our performance."

BBC Radio 5 live at Villa Park"Aston Villa will be delighted by that first half. Christian Benteke is the difference between the two teams, I cannot speak highly enough of what has been a top quality centre-forward performance from him.
"Spurs have created chances, Emmanuel Adebayor had that one-on-one but was denied by Brad Guzan (see 27 mins), and have shown enough to suggest they can get themselves back into this game."

16:50 GMT 2 November 2014A lot of fans on social media are calling for Harry Kane to come on up front for Tottenham. He can't do any harm up there - though his stock may never be this high again...

"So far, so good for Aston Villa. Their first job was to end the goal drought, and they've done that. They more than deserve their advantage. Christian Benteke has been terrific in the first half. Spurs need to improve big time."
HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2014
16:47 GMT 2 November 2014Not the best game - by a long chalk - but Aston Villa and their fans won't care. They have scored, and they lead.

BBC Radio 5 live at Villa Park"How many times have I said it this half? A brilliant header from Christian Benteke, he is so unlucky not to find the target (see 43 mins). He has been brilliant. It was always going to take him a few games to get himself right, but judging by today's performance Villa are possibly too reliant on him. Everything good about Villa is going through Benteke. He is the one setting up every Villa attack."

16:44 GMT 2 November 2014Almost two! Christian Benteke is getting back to his unplayable best and flicks the outside of the post with a looping header. He is strong as an ox.

16:43 GMT 2 November 2014Kyle Naughton is the latest player to bring Mauricio Pochettino to his feet. His crime? A woeful cross in from the right. He had time, he had space. And put it in the Holte End.

16:41 GMT 2 November 2014Mark, Nottingham: Not enough characters available here to describe how frustrated I am with this awful Spurs. So will stick with one word to summarise: 'Kaboul.'

16:40 GMT 2 November 2014What's the opposite of 'a great advert for the Premier League'? This could be it. Spurs have a free-kick in a dangerous area, they take an age getting everyone forwards and in the right positions and then make a total hash of it. I can understand the frustrations of you Spurs fans who are in touch with us today.
They are a frustrating side to watch.

16:38 GMT 2 November 2014Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney, speaking to Sky Sports: "Our pace caused them problems and they were panicking towards the end. We just could not get the equaliser."
On penalty appeals: "I don't think mine was a penalty. I tried to cut the ball back for Angel Di Maria, but I don't think it was a penalty. I can't comment on the others because I could not get a clear view.
"We have to focus on ourselves. You can see every week we are getting better. We are not far away from being back up there and being a very good side. We came here for a result and leave with no points so we are disappointed."

16:37 GMT 2 November 2014Jon, Eastleigh: Mauricio Pochettino's thinking: 'I know, I'll switch to a 4-4-2, that way we'll have even less protection for our laughable back four while managing to play TWO strikers who can't score. That'll stop this disastrous season.
James, Norfolk: Younes Kaboul is a joke of a player. How does he keep getting games in the Premier League? As an Arsenal fan I hope Spurs stick with him well into his forties.
Maggie, Lowestoft: I despair with Spurs. There is no spine, no backbone. Where is the spirit and energy? We are like a limp lettuce leaf. Week after week and I'm sick of it.

16:36 GMT 2 November 2014Aston Villa are growing in confidence now, peppering the Spurs box with early crosses, one of which is hooked over the bar by Andreas Weimann.
The Austrian has been involved in 80% of Villa's Premier League goals this term. A stat that sounds very impressive until you hear that he has scored three and set up one.

BBC Radio 5 live at Villa Park"That chance for Emmanuel Adebayor (see 27 mins) came from nothing - from a kick-out by Brad Guzan. Adebayor should have scored, Matt Lowton was keeping him onside and that was a big, big chance. I've not been Guzan's biggest fan but that was a really good save from him."

16:30 GMT 2 November 2014"Harry, Harry Kane!" is again audible from the away fans. Mauricio Pochettino, normally a very sedate figure, threw his water bottle to the ground in disgust when Emmanuel Adebayor failed to score there.

16:29 GMT 2 November 2014Krishan Goyal:, external For the first time I'm losing faith in Mauricio Pochettino. Drops our best player Erik Lamela and repeatedly ignores the consistent one, Harry Kane.
Luke Moody:, external I cannot force myself to believe Etienne Capoue was being sold as 'the next Patrick Vieira.' The guy can't track for love nor money.
Paul Charles:, external If the rumours are true, I expect Hugo Lloris can't wait to get over to Spain and play with defenders that actually pay attention.
