  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

That's more like it though! Excitement and intrigue. Wilfried Bony wants a penalty for a shove in the back from Calum Chambers but is waved away and seconds later Jefferson Montero hammers in a shot which forces Wojciech Szczesny into a good save at his near post.

  2. Postpublished at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

Marvin Emnes whips in a delightful ball from out on the right for Swansea, but Per Mertesacker beats Wilfried Bony to the cross and heads away. It's very low key in Wales.

  3. 'A gentle start'published at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

BBC Sport Wales' Dafydd Pritchard at the Liberty Stadium:

"A gentle start at the Liberty Stadium has not created much excitement at either end of the pitch, though Swansea's injury concerns seem to be mounting.

"Already without Federico Fernandez, Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer, the Swans' captain Ashley Williams now seems to be hobbling badly after stretching awkwardly earlier.

"That will worry Wales manager Chris Coleman, who could do without losing his skipper before Wales face a daunting trip to Belgium for a Euro 2016 qualifier in a week."

A win today will move Swansea above the Gunners and the hosts are growing into the game. Favourite Leon Britton earns a ripple of applause as he warms up on the sidelines - he's not played at all this season because of a knee injury.

Arsenal find their flowing game for the first time as Chilean dangerman Alexis Sanchez threatens to burst onto a cross - but again he is well seen out by the Swans back four.

Swansea's first real attack sees Jefferson Montero win a free-kick out wide. Gylfi Sigurdsson takes it and delivers a devilish ball into the back post, crying out for a touch, but Gunners defender Calum Chambers does really well to head out from under the crossbar.

The story of the day in terms of the FA Cup first round comes from the Ricoh Arena, where Worcester City of the Conference North have beaten 10-man Coventry City, who are of course former winners. It's a famous day for Carl Heeley's non-league side.

Elsewhere, 2008 winners Portsmouth, winless in the FA Cup since the 2010 semi-finals, have been held at home by Conference Aldershot.

All the full-time scores, goals and highlights from today's games can be found in our live coverage.

Former Arsenal and Wales striker John Hartson
BBC Radio 5 live sports extra at the Liberty Stadium

"Even with all the rain we've had here today, and despite the fact Ospreys play their rugby here, the pitch looks magnificent. It's got plenty of zip, and will certainly test the players' touch.

"Normally Swansea dominate possession at home, but early on in this game it is Arsenal who have been passing the ball around really well."

  9. Postpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the outstanding Arsenal player against Anderlecht, breaks forwards for the first time but he can't link up with Danny Welbeck, and the move falls apart. Neither side troubling the other yet.

Seany Ekon:, external Aaron Ramsey better perform today. Goal for Danny Welbeck and three points please. Will be tough.

Mohammed:, external Am not even at the stadium and not liking the line up. Nacho Monreal again. Arsene Wenger is just playing with our hearts.

Dominic O'Caollaí:, external If Arsenal don't win today, they, Liverpool and Manchester United will all have won four out of 11 games. Yet two are expected to be top four? Awful form!

Arsenal making all the early running, Swansea seem set on letting them have the ball in their own half and then pressing hard in midfield.

  12. Manager reactionpublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was disappointing and frustrating. A very bad result. It is a shame because we started the game great and had the chance with Harry Kane but once we conceded the first goal it all changed, we took rash decisions and looked uncomfortable on the ball and made a lot of mistakes.

"We were more comfortable in the second half but then 2-0 down it is difficult. We scored but in the end it was a very disappointing result and in the next few days we will try to find a solution and change our mentality.

"Stoke worked hard. Always it is different. When you are up in a game your motivation is full and maybe we are very disappointed and frustrated and our players feel that frustration. We need to look forward, work hard, change and find the solution. That is my job."

Former Arsenal and Wales striker John Hartson
BBC Radio 5 live sports extra at the Liberty Stadium

"You don't see Ashley Wiliams go down very often, I've been watching him for eight or nine years and he never goes down. He looks in real pain and the assistant Wales manager is sat right behind us. He'll be very worried because they've got a big game against Belgium coming up. He's obviously shaken it off though and is back on."

  14. Postpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

The Swansea captain Ashley Williams needs some running repairs but he is back up on his feet now. He gets a relieved round of applause - they can't afford to lose him.

  15. Postpublished at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

Nacho Monreal is playing through the middle of the Arsenal defence. At the other end, Ashley Williams is down with an injury right at the start, overstretching his left leg.

  16. Manager reactionpublished at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes, speaking to BBC Sport: "I was really pleased with the manner of the performance today. We had a game plan and executed it to the letter. We were always a threat, we had a good shape about us, when we had the ball we broke with pace and precision and scored two goals as a consequence.

"All in all it was a very satisfying performance. When Tottenham did create things our goalkeeper Asmir Begovic made an outstanding save. The group is really strong together, we have talent as well and when you have those it is a good mix.

"We are where we expected to be after these games so we are progressing well. Marc Wilson pulled up with a hamstring and Phil Bardsley tweaked his groin but I was really pleased with the lads who came in. They were magnificent on the day and I think that shows the strength of the group."

  19. Manager reactionpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2014

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet on Connor Wickham not being shown a red card: "If I was in the referee's shoes I would have given the penalty. Maybe the missed touch gave the referee an option.

"I was suspecting a red card. But later Tim Howard landed on top of the ball and held it under his body late and nothing given.

"It was a tight game against a very good Everton team. We need to maintain that level now and be consistent."

Nacho Monreal at centre-half was a recipe for disaster in midweek - as Stuart points out, there could be trouble ahead. Another option I guess would be switching Calum Chambers to centre-half and asking Monreal or Kieran Gibbs to play on the right.

The sides are in the tunnel.
