Yousuf Ahmed:, external United looked good until the Stoke goal, highlights their shaky defense. As a fan, I'm worried. This could go one of two ways.

Mark McKirdy:, external Does Fellaini's hair make the ball go faster or slower after a header?

Does Mark Hughes need a bouncer? He's got one as he comes back out. I'd like to see anyone take on Sparky...

Jack in Newcastle: Janmaat, Williamson, Tiote, Abeid and Cisse are carrying knocks. Dummett is not a centre back but Steven Taylor is also carrying a injury. We have, after United, the longest injury list in the division. We have had for about five weeks but just now we have two suspensions also. Any Newcastle fan would of taken a point from this game and the West Ham match prior.

More than one-third of this game has been played in Newcastle's penalty area. Burnley on top.

Patrick in Croydon: To think all the big clubs were apparently lining up for Benteke. Maybe that goal is the start of an outrageous second half of 40 goals...

Palace's final ball is pretty average tonight, hence Brad Guzan having a relatively easy evening thus far. Neil Warnock is digging out the tea cups and the hairdryer as we type.

Harry Pannell:, external LVG likes to play Wingers/Midfielders as full backs. Not like he doesn't have two on the bench either. Strange.

Paul Barrett:, external These half time scores are a computer programmers dream!

West Brom look for an instant retaliation and work the ball for Saido Berahino, but he blasts way over the top from 25 yards.

Chris in London: Fans have amazingly short memories. Fellaini had ONE indifferent season and all of a sudden it's a shock to see him do what he's done in the past??? Sad irony is that Van Gaal is playing him in his Everton position, but Moyes probably didn't have the courage/reputation (or Herrera) to play him there at Man U.

  12. League Onepublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2014

All tonight's League One action is concentrated within a 16-mile radius in South Yorkshire with the one goal so far coming at Oakwell.

Lewis Nyatanga's early strike is enough for Barnsley to lead Doncaster 1-0.

Sheffield United are drawing 0-0 with top-six rivals MK Dons at Bramall Lane.

    John Hartson
    BBC Radio 5 live

"You certainly expect more from United coming forward.

"There's been no shots on target from either Robin van Persie or James Wilson and that's something they have to put right after the break."

MOTD's Simon Brotherton at the King Power

"Simon Mignolet has conceded one and he has been lucky not to concede two after a calamitous error. Adam Lallana restored parity and it's all to play for in the second half."

Nic Wirtz:, external What is going on with Newcastle? We've got an entire team out injured. Great research, dumb question

Marvin Glendo:, external Why buy an attacking player in Cabella if he's sitting on the bench! Same treatment Ben Arfa had and it's a waste of talent

James Phipps:, external Not surprised if Newcastle in relegation battle by Xmas again, fans calling for Pardew to go. Could only happen to Newcastle..

Palace are straight back on the front foot as Wilfried Zaha sees a stringing strike from 18 yards palmed away by goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Yannick Bolasie has a follow-up effort blocked by some desperate visiting defending.

  17. Postpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2014

Swansea had 10 attempts in the first half but a combination of poor finishing and excellence from Rob Green has shut them out so far.

The Hammers are level at The Hawthorns - Andy Carroll capitalising on some pinball in the Baggies box and trying his luck with an overhead kick from 18 yards out. It is parried by Ben Foster, but straight into the path of a goal-hanging Kevin Nolan who stoops to head home.

    John Hartson

"The movement's got to be better from United, it's been quite scrappy.

"Stoke have done really well to get back in the game, but the quality just hasn't been there from either side really.

"Van Gaal will want United to be patient with their passing as Stoke have a midfield six really which is proving quite hard to break down."
