James: We can all chase after Chelsea for the diving today but there isn't a single team in the league that hasn't had several players diving this season. Criticise every team's diving, not just one.
Tim in London: Would one of the pundits care to explain why diving is so terribly bad, but deliberately fouling a player is seen as professional?

Newcastle corner and Arsenal breakaway. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leads a two-on-one break, one good pass and Olivier Giroud would be in but the England man can't force the ball through. Lucky escape for Newcastle.
Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock: "It was a war of attrition, they are a very good team but I thought we did reasonably well. Their keeper made a great save from James McArthur and we deserved something, so I cannot fault the lads.
"I thought we slightly edged it and I thought we were disappointed not to get all three points. If we get one or two people in, I think we will be alright.
"None of us are pleased with the pitch, it is a difficulty and we all know we have a problem with it. But it's the same for both teams. It's almost like running on sand at times."
Alexis Sanchez has recovered from almost being disembowelled by Cheick Tiote and looks a threat, nipping around up front, popping up on either flank. What a signing he has been.
Here's more from Hull manager Steve Bruce, talking to BBC Sport: "We could have defended the first goal better - but the big issue in the game is the Gary Cahill situation.
"The referee shows his intent because he's booked two players for diving and for me Cahill is lucky to be on the pitch for his first challenge. If he hasn't dived there, then I don't know what one is. We all know what he's trying to do, he's trying to get a penalty. The referee is 10 yards away and there's no excuse. We need him to do his job otherwise it will keep rearing its ugly head.
"Unfortunately, from the first minute, Chris Foy had one of them awful afternoons. Today sums up our season. We could have been five or six points better off. I'm still convinced we've got a squad good enough."

"A really good header from Per Mertesacker. For somebody of his height, I cannot believe Newcastle didn't have anybody in front of him - it was a free header. It's been a very bright start from Arsenal, they have passed the ball well."
Wonderful header from Per Mertesacker! He cannons one against the underside of the crossbar from a corner, great effort to help the ball on its way and he's unlucky. Young Newcastle keeper Jak Alnwick may have got a slight touch to that one. If he did, it was a great save!
Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: "I think we were a bit more than in it. It's another difficult day for us. We played well, I don't think there's too much you can say against that. Not a lot of chances at either end. They showed why they are champions, scored a goal out of nothing and didn't really create anything else.
"From their perspective I'm sure they are very pleased with the result in the sense they did not have to play at their absolute max but from our end I think we played pretty well and were unlucky to come away with nothing again.
"We are on the receiving end of another defeat and I don't think we deserved to be but that's how it is. There's no point me being anything other than rational about it. I think the players played well. Unfortunately we have been unable to get anything. Whether we deserved it is irrelevant. We have to look to next game. When you're adrift that makes it even more difficult psychologically but I don't think our players looked like they lacked belief and that will be important moving forward."
SMC: Well done Garth Crooks for having the nerve to call a dive a dive!
Tom Gregory: Get caught diving and you concede a penalty at the other end. Simple. Would stop it overnight.
David Zimmermann: When will the "experts" finally understand it's not always penalty or dive? It's often just about avoiding a (good/bad) tackle.

Get off the fence, Garth, and tell us what you think about the decision not to send off Gary Cahill...
At Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez is caught in the stomach by Chieck Tiote. Horrible challenge which goes unpunished.
West Brom manager Alan Irvine: "I felt as long as we played with composure and didn't try to hurry things we would do it. Everyone assumes it's easy against 10 men but it isn't. It was never a foregone conclusion.
"From my point of view it's a great goal. Craig Gardner did well to finish it off. The players have been great for me."
On Saido Berahino: "I don't know about his contract, I don't get involved in that. That's for other people.
"I'm not aware of it (talks stalling over a new contract)."

"In my day referees would have shouted at players to get up, and to not be so stupid. Chris Foy booked two players for diving, but not one crucial player. And I'm saying the player plays for a massive club, and it was a massive decision to make. And he bottled it."
Incredible stat from the game at Turf Moor. Dusan Tadic's penalty miss ended a run of 29 successive penalties scored by Southampton in the Premier League.
The last Southampton player to miss a penalty in the Premier League was Jim Magilton in April 1997.

"I don't think Arsene Wenger should go. When perhaps you miss out on Champions League qualification and the £30 million that brings, then maybe then. But not yet. They need to invest in the defence and the defensive midfield. But up front they are fine."

"Before their game away to Newcastle, people were talking about Chelsea going the whole season unbeaten and matching that frightening invincible Arsenal side. Newcastle beat Chelsea, but I do expect it to be a tougher night for them here."
Solid start from the Gunners, probing in front of the Newcastle defence. The Emirates in good voice early on.

"Diving needs to be stamped out. There needs to be more intervention, more punishment. It's like a cancer spreading throughout football right now. Certainly in the Premier League. There is too much of it."
Under way at the Emirates.
