It took West Ham into February to reach the 24 points they are on this season. They will be hoping to make it to 27 this afternoon.

"Enner Valencia wasn't quite at his usual explosive best, it looked like he may have been carrying an injury. Diafra Sakho will certainly use his power up alongside Andy Carroll now. Swansea have looked threatening, but you feel if West Ham were to score a second then they would go on to win this match."

  4. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

A change for West Ham at half time as they replace striker Enner Valencia with Diafra Sakho. Pace for pace there, with Sakho expected to partner Andy Carroll in attack.

How's this for clinical from Wilfried Bony? The Swansea striker has had one touch inside West Ham's penalty area and scored with it. A lot of his work has been in his defensive half, as shown by the touch graphic above.

This will come as no surprise but seven of Andy Carroll's last 11 Premier League goals have been headed.

Without labouring the point, his goal this afternoon ends a run of 878 minutes without a Premier League strike. He will hope he doesn't have to wait a similar spell for his next.

Stewart Downing may traditionally be a left winger but Sam Allardyce seems to have got so much more out of him at West Ham this season. The England international is playing left of a narrow midfield diamond but has license to roam all over the field, as shown by the touch graphic above. He has been a constant threat.

  8. Postpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

    Stats

West Ham have dominated all the stats in the first half and will fancy their chances of pushing for a second-half winner.

    Former QPR striker Bradley Allen
BBC Radio London at the Boleyn Ground

"We've got a really interesting game on our hands now. You can see Swansea have got that little bit of magic in the final third, but West Ham have just kept pummelling them. They've eventually got back on level terms, and they deserve it, but it's a real contrast of styles."

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

Relief for the Hammers as they go in at the break buoyed by Andy Carroll's leveller. They may not have created a lot of chances but they had enough of the ball to deserve that equaliser.

Stacy Phillips: Typical Andy Carroll goal. Runs away from goal and heads it into the opposite corner. Brilliant.

Mehran Ebrahimi: Andy Carroll 1 - 1 Wilfried Bony (see 29 mins).

Mike Brazilliamson: For every Afonso Alves, there's a Wilfried Bony!

After scoring 45 goals in 39 for Heerenveen of Netherlands, Brazilian striker Alves joined Middlesbrough for a club record fee. He scored 10 league goals in 42 games before leaving to join Al Sadd in Qatar. Bony's 58 goals in the Dutch league for Vitesse Arnhem don't look a fluke though.

What a moment for Andy Carroll. He has had his injury problems over the last couple of years but, when fit, he undoubtedly causes problems.

Maybe Sam Allardyce wasn't that daft to pick him over Wilfried Bony. Mind you that was his first goal at Upton Park since march 2013.

  13. Postpublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

"That is where Andy Carroll thrives. A far post-header, guided across goal, Carroll just used the pace of the delivery. What a brilliant time to score an equaliser, and Upton Park is up on its feet. A thumping header."

A roar from the home fans as some West Ham pressure forces a corner... Swansea concede another corner kick but the Hammers can't capitalise as Alex Song's dodgy touch on the edge of the penalty area breaks down the attack.

Nice diagonal pass from Stewart Downing finds Aaron Creswell in the inside left channel. His header though is soft and straight at Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

    Former QPR striker Bradley Allen
BBC Radio London at the Boleyn Ground

"Swansea have narrowed up in the middle of the pitch and West Ham have been finding it very difficult to play through. Physically Swansea have stood up to the challenge too. Usually West Ham can bump teams out of the way, but with the technical quality Swansea have got as well, it could be a really tough afternoon for the home side."

West Ham may have had more of the ball but it is Swansea looking far more dangerous as an attacking force.
