Football writer Amy Lawrence: "The people with that banner are a couple of weeks too late, wasn't the crisis a couple of weeks ago? It seemed very ill-timed, especially after an away win."

At the Hawthorns on Saturday, where Danny Welbeck scored the winner, fans unveiled a banner which read 'Arsene, thanks for the memories but it's time to say goodbye'.

Football writer Amy Lawrence: "With the Van Persie performance at Arsenal that was criticised, he was so invisible it was strange. But yesterday was classic, old-school van Persie at his finest. Van Gaal has gone for two attackers with big personalities to lead his team, and I wonder if dealing with them is they key for him at United?"

"Defensively Chelsea are miles better than anyone in the league, although there are loads of teams who aren't very good defensively. If you look at the way Chelsea defend, they love it! But shouldn't that be the pre-requisite of any side? A good defensive side should take it as a personal affront if somebody scores against you."

"Brendan Rodgers has already stated Steven Gerrard can't do two 90 minutes in three or four days, and it's sensible management. Rodgers is the first manager to manage Gerrard on the way down. It was always going to happen, but they are still a better team with him, I still don't know a better passer in the league. You want him to fit for Basel on a week on Tuesday, so Rodgers might manage him until then."

A late Danny Ings penalty rescued a point for Burnley, and denied Aston Villa a first win in nine matches on Saturday. Here is a selection of your comments in reaction, taken from the BBC Sport Facebook page., external

Patricia Gill: I think Aston Villa have been the unluckiest team in the Premier League so far and are due a bit of luck now. They keep meeting teams who they would be expected to beat when they are on a good run. West Ham, Southampton and Burnley for example. A lot of influential players are out injured as well but I feel the tide will turn on Tuesday night with the return of Christian Benteke, he was just getting back to form when the sending off happened. They are well capable of going on a run when they get the win under their belt.

Andrew Smith: Paul Lambert will be next out the door. Two and a half (nearly) seasons of utter garbage and he gets rewarded with a new contract! Equally as bizarre as Gabriel Agbonlahor getting the same.

Ryan Mescall: Everyone keeps saying Lambert out but if he did get sacked, then who is out there to replace him?

"Joe Cole looked fit and strong and I'm so pleased for him because he's such a good lad, I've known him for years.

"It's the first sign of him looking as strong as he did a couple of years back. He's been waiting for his chance for a while now.

"He's looking sharp and Villa started the game really well, hopefully that will give him the platform to go on. You can build on a point. I think Burnley will be disappointed because they had some chances."

"If you're not scoring goals at home and conceding two or three away it's a recipe for disaster.

"Leicester manager Nigel Pearson will be thinking if you score two away you should be getting something. You've got to feel sorry for Leicester, it could have gone either way. They seem to have lost their way a bit."
