Another card, another late Everton chance. Ben Davies dives into a rash challenge near the right corner flag. Leighton Baines eyes up the delivery....
And now Erik Lamela has, I'm sure, further incensed Simon in York (see below) by clattering into Leighton Baines close to the touchline. Booking.
Simon, York: Once again Erik Lamela is setting a shocking example for the kids watching at home. First he was praised for scoring a so called rabona instead of using his weaker foot, and now he's wearing gloves to play a football match in the south of England. He shouldn't be allowed on television before the watershed!
Guy, Reading: Hold on to your hats Spurs fans - we're in for a bumpy late ride! Keep solid at the back at hit them on the counter.
Neal: Late drama. I reckon Everton will nick a point...
Everton boss Roberto Martinez chomps down on a piece of chewing gum as he plots a remarkable comeback on the touchline. Doesn't look like happening at the moment I'm afraid. Five minutes to go....
Spurs win a corner as they look to put this game to bed. But Harry Kane clumsily shoves over his marker at the far post as the set-piece drifts over his blond quiff.

"Roberto Soldado has had to drop down to the reserves, he's seen other players come in and take his place, but I haven't seen a word of complaint from him in all this time. He's just tried to make a success of it and I think that's commendable.
"Tottenham have to keep their shape from here. They are in front and are leading but Everton are coming strong. Marucio Pochettino will be delighted if his side can see this one out."
Standing ovations for Roberto Soldado at White Hart Lane have been rare. But he is treated to one now - and it is richly deserved. The Spanish goalscorer is replaced by defensive midfielder Paulinho as Spurs look to shut up shop.
Simon Vickers: Southampton concede, Liverpool don't. Johnson, Smalling and Soldado score. Chelsea can't beat Sunderland. Odd football weekend!
Kritt Normsaskul: This is exactly what Spurs needed. More urgency in their game. They look a lot more dangerous.
Ian Marks: Erik Lamela reminds me of Dos Santos when he was at Spurs. Obvious potential, barely uses it.

Here's a chance. Leighton Baines hovers over a free-kick about 35 yards out from the Spurs goal. It's too far for the Alex Turner lookalike to shoot, so instead he lobs one up into the mixer. But it is met by a Spurs head - and the sight of the linesman's flag for an offside against the Toffees.
Still Everton press. Substitute Aidan McGeady feeds Seamus Coleman as he thunders down the right touchline, but Spurs left-back Ben Davies sticks his wiry frame in the way of the Irishman's cross.
A quarter of an hour - plus stoppage time - for Everton to find an equaliser.

"Everton are looking strong at the moment, while Tottenham are finding it difficult to get hold of the ball. Eric Dier and Erik Lamela have both been struggling with the defensive side of the game since they came on."
Good spell for Everton. Seamus Coleman is fully in the thick of things, this time smashing a cross from the right out for a Spurs goal-kick. Cue groans from the away fans perched behind the Spurs net.
Everton carve open the Spurs defence - but can't take advantage. Ross Barkley's clever throughball spots the run of marauding right-back Seamus Coleman, who bursts in to the penalty area from the right. But Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris races off his line to smother.
Edward Herbert: Tottenham look so much more secure at the back without Younes Kaboul.
Luke Groszewski: Everton are missing James McCarthy. One of those players that you don't notice how important they are until they are not playing.
Alex Hayes: Three of the best players on the pitch, Kane, Mason and Bentaleb, are all products of the Tottenham academy. Good sign.

Vlad Chiriches, who was booked a few moments ago, is off. After picking up an injury. The Romanian, playing as a makeshift right-back, limps off the White Hart Lane pitch and is replaced by Eric Dier. Who is a another makeshift right-back.
Rare spell of Everton possession in opposition territory. Leighton Baines swings in a swirling cross from the left, Leon Osman picks up the scraps of Spurs clearance just inside the box, but the hosts side regroup to clear.
That's right David - Spurs have played at a sweat-inducing tempo. Another quick ball from Nabil Bentaleb looks for man-of-the-moment Harry Kane, but it is too strong for the England Under-21 forward.

"I wouldn't have changed anything if I were Mauricio Pochettino. This is much quicker than some of the pedantic and patient play we have seen from Tottenham in recent weeks. They are playing an altogether faster and more direct game. It shows great faith in Erik Lamela though."
Vinny Person: Everyone loves Roberto Soldado now. Score or assist 20-25 league goals a season and he'll justify your his price tag and shirt.
Adam Keed: Roberto Soldado? More like Roberto Goaldado!
Ken Gorry: A Christmas miracle? Liverpool record a clean sheet and Soldado scores - both on the same weekend.

And that prompts Spurs into a reshuffle. Aaron Lennon trots off, high fiving his replacement Erik Lamela.
