"Tottenham won the ball brilliantly and when Aaron Lennon put Roberto Soldado through the Spaniard found himself closing in on Tim Howard in the Everton goal as Spurs overloaded. Soldado hasn't justified the money Spurs paid for him but that was a big goal. The Tottenham bench jump up in delight."

Tottenham come from behind to take the lead again. A fabulous finish by Roberto Soldado who keeps his composure to fire low past Tim Howard after Aaron Lennon's clever pass. Poor defending by Everton but take nothing away from Soldado. That was a super goal.

One minute of added time. Apart from the goals this has been pretty drab.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2014

Goalscorer Kevin Mirallas picks up a needless yellow card as he kicks the ball away after Tottenham are awarded a free-kick. Everton need to keep their discipline. Tottenham are dominating the midfield.

"It was a difficult one for Roberto Soldado. The ball was coming high, down from the sky, and it was hard to control as it came over his shoulder and approached the goalkeeper. A half-chance. This is still a very even game but Everton are just edging possession as we approach half-time."

What is Muhamed Besic doing? The Everton man's attempted header back to his keeper is way too short and Roberto Soldado is ready to pounce. Everton are saved as Tim Howard senses the danger and rushes off his line before the Spurs forward can cause any damage.

  7. CLOSE!published at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2014

Everton will do well to be on level terms at half-time. Another chance for Spurs as Christian Eriksen's deflected shot whistles just past the post with Tim Howard wrong-footed. Harry Kane and Ryan Mason are causing all sorts of problems.

Everton are shaving possession but there are question marks over Tim Howard for the equaliser. The Everton keeper will feel he should have done better with Harry Kane's initial shot when he sees it again.

"We've seen some good speedy play from Tottenham, but Everton are playing very courageously by leaving Ross Barkley up the field with Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lukaku. It may well be that if Spurs continue to play like this, Muhamed Besic and Gareth Barry will want a bit more help in the middle of the pitch."

Spurs are on the front foot since equalising. Harry Kane powers forward but his finish is tame.

"It looked an impossible angle but the Everton defence were all wrong-footed by the deflected shot from Harry Kane. Relief for Tottenham. And well done Kane for having a go - that was Spurs' first shot of the match, and it was an excellent turn and run. He is now maturing into a first-team player."

We have a game. Christian Eriksen pounces after Tim Howard can only push Harry Kane's shot into the Tottenham player's path. Eriksen still has work to do but keeps his composure to finish well. Roberto Martinez is seething, Mauricio Pochettino punches the air and calls for more from the home crowd.

Pieter Troffaes: Fantastic strike, but horribly closed out by Spurs. They have been nothing but bad passes.

Matt Cartwright: Not worried as I know Everton will have a man sent off at some point and then we'll win 2-1 again!

Robin van Persie scored an absolute corker against Hull but Kevin Mirallas' finish was every bit as good. The Belgian placed it superbly but questions have to be asked of Tottenham's defence. Very shabby.

"That all came as a result of the free-kick. The Tottenham defence didn't deal with the rebound and Kevin Mirallas bent a shot with speed past Hugo Lloris. The goalkeeper had no chance of getting it, it was right in the top corner. Great start for Everton. They can now try and dictate the pace of the game."

Stunner. An absolute stunner from Kevin Mirallas as he finds the corner of the net with a curling 20-yard shot after Tottenham fail to clear a free-kick. Game on.

"There is a great atmosphere here today. Not a spare seat to be had. It looks as though Tottenham have been told to play with a very high tempo and the fans will appreciate that. They want tempo and they want momentum. Spurs' results after Thursday night matches have been very poor. Today they have to put that right."

Brilliant silky skills from Ross Barkley. The Everton youngster rides one midfield challenge before powering forward but is let down by his final pass as he attempts to tee up Samuel Eto'o. This kid really is special.
