"Liverpool's season summed up in a few seconds there - dreadful defending at a set piece and weak goalkeeping from Simon Mignolet - and a goal conceded. Wimbledon have got the taste for this FA Cup third round tie."

So League Two AFC Wimbledon, who were in football's ninth tier in 2002, are drawing with five-time European champions Liverpool and more than holding their own.

When you talk about FA Cup shocks, this could become the one of the greatest. Into the last five minutes of the first half.

Match of the Day's Danny Murphy

"We can't say they haven't deserved it in the last 10 minutes. Again it's from a set play, it's a good ball in but Simon Mignolet struggles and Adebayo Akinfenwa is first to the rebound. It's not good enough from the keeper, he needs to command."

"Tottenham probably the more comfortable in possession and Burnley the more direct but no shots on target and no shots off target. Tells you all you need to know."

Incredible scenes. The home crowd are going wild as AFC Wimbledon conclude a promising last five minutes with an equaliser. A corner comes in from the left, bounces off Mamadou Sakho and loops up onto the bar. Adebayo Akinfenwa is on hand to prod the rebound home, beating Simon Mignolet to the ball. Liverpool suddenly look rattled. Cupset anyone?

    Sean RiggImage source, Reuters

"Sean Rigg is the man posing the problems for Liverpool and AFC Wimbledon will be very aware of just how vulnerable Brendan Rodgers's side have been in defence this season. Liverpool have had long periods of control but the sense remains that the League Two side will trouble Liverpool if they can make their presence felt, especially the burly figure of Adebayo Akinfenwa,"

Match of the Day's Danny Murphy

"That's poor defending by Liverpool. It's a straight goal-kick. It's a good header by Adebayo Akinfenwa and a brave header by Sean Rigg. Matt Tubbs has a good goal record and you'd fancy him there. He's not quite sure where the goal is and he drags it."

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2015

What a chance for the hosts. A long ball is flicked on by an AFC Wimbledon head and Bournemouth loanee Matt Tubbs hooks the ball wide across goal, with just Simon Mignolet to beat. He should do better, but where are Liverpool's defence?

That seems to have lifted AFC Wimbledon. Suddenly, they are throwing themselves into tackles and playing with a bit more tempo. No more Mr Nice guys?

Match of the Day's Danny Murphy

"It's only that one bit of quality we've seen so far from Liverpool for that goal. AFC Wimbledon have hope - they're still in the game.

"At set plays, Liverpool are so vulnerable. This one falls to Sean Rigg and it's a brilliant save from Simon Mignolet."

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2015

Mario Balotelli is taking a leisurely stroll up the touchline. I wonder how he will take to these surroundings if he makes an appearance from the substitutes bench?

Better from the hosts though as they enjoy a concerted spell of pressure. George Francomb's low cross is slid out for a corner by Martin Skrtel. Simon Mignolet tips Sean Grigg's shot over the bar from the resulting corner. At last, we could have a game on our hands.

Liverpool probably can't believe how easy this is so far. The lack of big challenges from the League Two side has been notable. The hosts really need to up the tempo to knock a very comfortable Liverpool out of their stride.
