From Jenni in Newtownards: Man City have to approach tonight's match with the correct attitude and mindset. They have to be thinking that Barcelona will get at least a goal head-start at the Nou Camp, meaning City have to win tonight. They can't sit back and allow Barca to have all the possession tonight, instead they have to take the game to them. That won't be easy without Yaya Toure though.

So who is leading the way in terms of goals scored in the Champions League? Lionel Messi? Cristiano Ronaldo? Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is the leading Premier League striker in the goal charts with five.

"The best way of playing Barca, when you have a squad like City's, is going forward. Last year they tried to play counter-attacking football and they never got near them.

"It doesn't matter how well City play tonight, we will see magic from Messi, Neymar and Suarez but if City get after them, they can get a good result."

    Yaya ToureImage source, Getty Images

The main concern for Manchester City tonight is the absence of Yaya Toure.

The midfielder is serving the final match of this three-game European suspension after being sent off against CSKA Moscow in November.

City's win percentage with Toure in the side is 40%, compared to 36% without him. However, without him they become a difficult team to break down having avoided defeat in nine of the 11 games he has not played, with almost half of those games ending in draws.

"Manchester City's growing stature and ambition can be measured in bricks and mortar with the scale of the current renovations that will increase capacity to around 60,000 - but it is on the pitch where they want to make a statement tonight as they once again face Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League.

"Goals from Lionel Messi and Dani Alves gave Barcelona victory here a year ago on the way to a 4-1 aggregate win - with manager Manuel Pellegrini furious about the performance of Swedish referee Jonas Eriksson.

"Samir Nasri insists City have learned from that loss and are ready to make amends although Barca have since added Luis Suarez from Liverpool to complete a superstar strike force including Messi and Neymar."
