"That would have been one of the best goals we've seen in this tournament. You can see what Suarez was trying to do - put it through Joe Hart's legs. Luckily for City, Hart got down quickly enough to stop it."

Pull the cork out of the champagne Lionel Messi. A touch in the middle of the park is absolutely ridiculous from the Argentine and Luis Suarez is almost put through on goal seconds later but Joe Hart blocks. Barcelona are in full swagger.

Andy McNamara: Suarez is a busy player who makes many runs. Sometimes you make your own luck through sheer willingness and tenacity.

We've Only Got 1 Dom: Dzeko isn't suited to this type of game, more of an impact player, City need more pace and Bony is the one for that.

Stephen Cheatley: City's defence gave Suarez all the time in the world to take his goal. Shocking defending in such an important game.

The away fans are already into their 'ole's' as Barcelona pass the ball around like they are in a practice match. This is like a game of keep-ball, with a player not quite so good chasing around pointlessly.

"Strangely, City look more relaxed since the goal. It's as if the shackles are off and they're thinking 'we're getting beaten anyway, let's go for it'."

The first goal of the night in the Football League went the way of Championship leaders Derby. They took the lead against Charlton thanks to a close-range left-footed effort from Jeff Hendrick after nine minutes, and Jesse Lingard has just made it 2-0.

Huddersfield have also made a good start in their mid-table clash against Reading - Harry Bunn has given the Terriers the early advantage in that one with a header.

And Derby aren't the only table-toppers who have made a lightning start - League One leaders Bristol City are 1-0 up, courtesy of Luke Freeman's early strike against Doncaster.

"The warnings had already been posted for Manchester City about the golden rule when playing Barcelona - never conceded cheap possession. Now Luis Suarez has taken full advantage of that rebound off Vincent Kompany.

"City have not got into this as an attacking force yet and The Etihad is ominously quiet. Manuel Pellegrini's side need something to lift the mood, even it is just a tackle or a run. Too comfortable for Barcelona so far."

This is not looking good for City. Barcelona look so comfortable in possession and City are chasing shadows. Luis Suarez has a volley blocked as the home fans appear stunned.

Just as I say that Edin Dzeko climbs highest in the box to head wide for the hosts.

ScoopeX: That's the difference you get with Suarez, who is the genius of goal-scoring.

AWAY GOAL. Jurgen Klopp punches the air like a Ryder Cup golfer.

Giorgio Chiellini resembled Bambi, slipping in possession and Marco Reus is in the kind of form to gobble up that opportunity. One touch, out of his feet, head up, bottom corner. Right footed he beat Buffon with ease.

A fourth goal in as many games for Reus.

A horrible goal for Man City to concede. Lionel Messi's simple ball in hits Vincent Kompany on the back and Luis Suarez is on hand to rifle home from close range.

A tap in and reward for some organised defending by Juventus.

A long spell of possession for their visitors saw the home side get every man behind the ball in a tight block and they spring to break through Alvaro Morata. His shot is spilled by Roman Weidenfeller and there is Carlos Tevez to tap the ball home. It trickles over the line. A horrible moment for the Dortmund goalkeeper.

Brilliant block by Martin Demichelis after some sublime footwork from Neymar in the penalty area. The Brazilian bamboozles Pablo Zabaleta before playing the ball to Lionel Messi, whose shot is blocked.

Seconds later, Luis Suarez runs through but shoots into the side-netting.

Jerry Elumeze: Without Yaya Toure, I don't see City getting anything out if this match.

Mahbub Anam: Messi's having a bad season. He's only scored 37 in 34 appearances.

Neil Leverett: Many are saying City are playing Barcelona at right time. This is a wounded animal tonight.

Disappointing from James Milner as his low strike is easily blocked by the wall. Should have done better from there.

Edin Dzeko falls theatrically to the floor under the challenge of Javier Mascherano but there is enough contact to give them a free-kick at the halfway line. It is now City's turn to pass the ball around confidently before Dzeko has a shot from 20 yards blocked after James Milner's chipped through ball.

Barcelona are enjoying plenty of possession early on. So far they aren't hurting the hosts but City will know they can't afford Barca to settle into an sort of rhythm.
