Real Madrid are finally taking the sting out of this game, ever since Luka Modric came on they've bossed the ball. Gareth bale is not at it, losing the ball out wide and drawing a few jeers from the stands.

Porto midfielder Casemiro is on loan from Real Madrid. He's no Toni Kroos but he's had two or three cracking shots tonight. Basel go close next as Luca Zuffi tests Fabiano from 18 yards.

Back in Spain and Schalke don't know when they're out. Tranquillo Barnetta flashes a cross-shot across the face of goal, asking for a touch, and then Max Meyer shoots wide. At the other end Alvaro Arbeloa has a shot beaten clear.

Get hold of that one! Goodness me Casemiro can hit a ball! That is a belter of a free-kick, wonderful technique. What is that, 30 yards out? He smashes it in, like a Brazilian Tom Huddlestone. All sorts of dip and swerve on it, just brilliant.

Nikolas Virtanen: Oh my, what is going on in Madrid? Got to love Champions League football!

Kolo KK: If only Schalke were half this good at home...

Chelsea Warrior: Why do I have this nagging feeling that Schalke are about to create an upset for the ages? Score one more goal and it's truly on!

Who do we all think are the best side in European football right now? I've not seen a huge amount of Bayern Munich this season but they are strolling the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid have got issues, Barcelona look very good to me at the moment. Chelsea can beat anyone on their day?

All guns blazing into the second half at Huish Park between Yeovil and Bristol City. Just over a minute into the second half and Luke Freeman of league leaders City whipped in a wicked ball and Kieran Agard was in the right place at the right time to tap it in from two yard. That was soon followed by a smooth finish from Freeman himself, curling it majestically into the bottom right corner after a cutback from the right. 2-0 to Bristol City, and the Robins fans are on their feet and dancing.

It remains Coventry 1-0 Bradford in the other League One fixture following Frank Nouble's close-range finish, and Reading 1-0 Brighton in the Championship.

Luka Modric gets a huge ovation as he comes on for Real Madrid, replacing Sami Khedira. The Former Tottenham man is a huge player for the club these days. Also on is Marcelo, who is on a yellow card.

Yes Leroy! What a goal from the Schalke sub on his European debut! Leroy Sane takes his time to hit one from the edge of the box, gets some dip on it and it's too good again for Iker Casillas. Hit the target and you score at the moment against Casillas...

Real Madrid have been a long way short of their vintage best but the BBC have dug them out of a hole again. Not us, their strikeforce.

Porto to join Real in the last eight? Looks that way as they open up a two-goal lead. Cracking finish too from Hector Herrera, bending in a fine strike from 16 yards.

I think that might well be that now. Karim Benzema is just about onside to pick up a ball inside the area, he shows magic feet to skip away from two defenders, go round the keeper and slam in.

Schalke force another corner. I tell you what, a third goal for the visitors and it is time to get exited. Cristiano Ronaldo turns centre-half though to head out a cross.

Schalke's youngsters have impressed tonight, they could be even more of a force in the next few years if they can keep this side together. Leroy Sane has a shot steered away.

Real are bringing on Luka Modric soon, he's stripped and poised. Carlo Ancelotti said yesterday that Modric was going to get half an hour, but it looks like he'll get longer. We are back under way.

Shohidur Rahman: How are Schalke not ahead? They've been brilliant, but Real have Ronaldo. Real as a team have been shocking.

Rian Hoskins: Defensively it's been atrocious from Madrid. They miss Sergio Ramos but Schalke have impressed. The goal at half-time has hurt though...

Porto and Real Madrid are two of three sides in this season's Champions League who are unbeaten. The other? Chelsea.

You've got to love Roy Keane haven't you? He says on ITV that he would "get hold of Iker Casillas at half-time. My goodness! You can play as well as you like but if your keeper can't catch the ball you've got no chance!"

Casillas has been an all-time great, but the tide is definitely coming in on his career.

So far, so good for Porto who have been on top throughout.
