Please keep sending us your views on the best and worst African footballers you have ever seen. So far we have had love for George Weah and not such nice words for former Portsmoith and Blackburn striker Benjani.

Tweet #bbcafcon2015 and we will get your suggestions in here.

National anthem time, Tunisia up first...solid effort..they all sang. Over to Cape Verde who in this X Factor moment, take the spoils. Lots of singing with eyes closed.

  3. Injuries heap pressure on Bordeaux manpublished at 18:52 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2015

Tunisia, making their 12th consecutive appearance at the Cup of Nations, lost key forwards Saber Khalifa and Fakhreddine Ben Youssef through injuries picked up in last week's 1-1 friendly draw with Algeria.

The withdrawals have contributed to a difficult week which has also seen Tunisia endure problems with their accommodation, external in Equatorial Guinea.

But the 2004 champions do still have Bordeaux winger Wahbi Khazri, the man who starred in qualifying.

fFans outside the newly constructed Estadio de Ebebiyin

BBC World's Alex South in Ebibeyin: "Plenty of fans outside the newly constructed Estadio de Ebebiyin enjoying a freestyle masterclass from an Equatorial Guinea fan. The 4,000 capacity stadium was constructed just before the Cup of Nations. Good timing considering the country only found out they'd be hosting the tournament 66 days ago."

Equatorial Guinea became hosts late in 2014 when Morocco pulled out of staging the tournament as a result of the Ebola virus epidemic.

BBC world's Alex South in Ebebiyin: "Pre match meal of choice here is the pickled egg sandwich. Mmmmmmm."

Not sure that one will catch on in England. Perhaps with the odd Premier League culture vulture, doubt you'll get that in the Conference.

Rui Aguas played in two spells for Benfica and one for Porto, earning 31 caps for Portugal. He has served as assistant manager of Portugal and took charge of Cape Verde last year.

Now this Tunisia team sound like they have something about them. They were unbeaten in qualifying and eliminated Egypt - who have won this tournament a record seven times.

The several descriptions I've received from our World Service team talk of a side who will suffer no nonsense and know how to mix it. Could we see our first sending off of the tournament?

    So where exactly are we?

Nuevo Estadio Ebebeyin looked like this around six weeks ago when we visited.

Not great. Yet today it looks neat and tidy and will now host a second match just 75 minutes after Zambia's draw with DR Congo.

  11. A solid startpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2015

"It's been exciting to see teams playing with flair. Often the teams start cautious. The goalkeepers have been doing well, particularly the Gabon goalkeeper against Burkina Faso.

"That said, I can see this tournament maybe having more goals than we have ever had."

You can listen to Phil Masinga - a winner of this tournament with South Africa in 1996 - on the BBC World Service's Sportsworld now.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is suffering from "a mild bout of malaria" and may not play against Senegal on Monday.

The Ghana Football Association said the striker was admitted to a hospital in Mongomo on Saturday evening and released on Sunday morning. The disease was caught "at an early stage" and Gyan is said to be responding to treatment.

Former Sunderland defender John Mensah has tweeted, external from the Ghana camp: "After our morning workout in the pool. So far so good in Equatorial Guinea."

And Ghana have had some good news, as defender John Boye has returned to camp from hospital in Mongomo after feeling weak. Doctors will monitor his progress.

But it is not all good news for the Black Stars...

BBC Sport's Alex South in Ebebeyin: Easy to guess who the man of the match was but who is the guy with the painted on beard awarding it to Bolasie?

    Yannick Bolasie

The five league outings Bolasie made for Hillingdon Borough in 2006-07 were always going to end this way.

    Zambia v DR Congo
  18. Postpublished at 17:54 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2015

BBC Sport's Ed Harry: Zambia have still never lost in Equatorial Guinea - but this draw was nothing like the battles they fought in Bata on the way to the title three years ago. DR Congo, and Bolasie in particular, outstanding and created just about everything in the second half.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2015

Go on fellas, use that line again: "you don't want to lose your first game."

Zambia had a dream start to the tournament - shades of England at the 2010 World Cup as an early goal sparked hope - not to mention a dancing celebration. But DR Congo pushed the harder from there on in and got their point through a familiar name - Yannick Bolasie.

Crystal Palace fans can be proud of his performance and his goal was classy. Perhaps his side deserved more.
