Ordinarily I'd love to praise this gent for his striped face and Dame Edna glasses.

But what is that I see in his hand?

Yes, it's a horn. Throw him out!!

The light is slowly dimming in the stadium as day turns to night and so are DR Congo's hopes. There is still an energetic press about the Zambia midfield which you think may eventually fatigue.

Firmin Ndombe Mubele rides a few challenges for DR Congo but his cross is given another boot up field by the Zambia back four.

BBC Sport's Ed Harry: Dear people in the Conga line doing full lengths of the stand over on the far side, DRC have started this half with real intent. Bolasie is lurking, but I feel you are not giving the game your full attention.

Another free-kick, another Bolasie effort from range but this one has too much air time and when it reaches the goal it's an easy catch. I say "easy to catch", this Zambia goalkeeper has not inspired confidence in his handling ability throughout.

While we're on food, the ball is like a hot potato for Zambia and has been throughout. Too many heavy touches and loose passes stop them from getting any momentum, not that the score line shows it.

When a slick pass arrives, it finds Emmanuel Mayuka clean through on goal but he is wrongly given offside. That would have been interesting.

Is that a sign of things to come for Zambia? Have DR Congo had the half-time talking to from manager Florent Ibenge? Yesterday we saw Equatorial Guinea lead at the interval and tire late on to eventually draw. Plenty more questions to be asked of Zambia here.

Underway then, DR Congo into one or two strong early tackles and a great chance for Dieumerci Mbokani...not quite.

The big number nine can only get a dangled foot on Firmin Ndombe Mubele's good right-wing cross and the ball loops wide. Mbokani had their best first-half chance and that was a good opportunity early on in the second.

Here come the teams. Spinklers on the field in Ebibiyin which did you know, as a town only had one hotel in 1985. Blackpool was thriving then. I wonder if they have crazy golf in Ebibiyin?

A reminder that this would be Zambia's 12th straight Afcon game without defeat. They won it in 2012 and went out without losing a game in 2013.

Far from clear cut this one as the stats show but a few tactical fouls, time-wasting substitutions in the second period and Bob's your uncle. Egypt hold the record for most AFCON games undefeated - 19.

  12. DR Congo good news for Pards?published at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2015

Yannick Bolasie has looked their brightest spark indeed. The Crystal Palace winger has popped up in areas across the pitch and a deflected free-kick of his was the closest DR Congo got. I wonder what Alan Pardew is thinking? An early exit for DR Congo would be decent news for the Palace boss surely.

BBC Sport's Ed Harry in Ebebeyin: The empty seats in the press box are now filled with lots and lots of very well behaved fans. They've just arrived! Okay, now the ground is definitely full.

Not a great piece of public relations - all the local fans they've just seated in the empty press seats have all been asked to leave and go who knows where. Hope their Cup of Nations lasts longer than that ten minutes.

Crosses into the box from DR Congo, the odd flash of link-up play, but not enough really to threaten and Zambia can afford to be average going forward. They are organised at the back, hard working in midfield and one up at half time.

Their manager Honour Janza (great name) will be rubbing his hands.

Robert Kidiaba in the Congo goal is probably starting to feel the beads of sweat a little more as he ponders that error in the early throws of this one. It cost a goal which now looks quite important.

Aside from that Zambia have looked disjointed going forward.

    One additional minute signalled.

  17. CLOSE!published at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2015

The road runner is at it again, Yannick Bolasie felled 20 yards out but he's up and sprightly to take the free-kick.

What have you got Yannick? Lots of heads with strange shapes shaved into them in the wall, it flicks off one of them and drops just wide.

That was close. In fact, replays show it's inches and Bolasie puts his hands on his head.

A thrilling start with the early goal but this is either expert game management by Zambia or just a DR Congo side not quite at full gusto.

Rainford Kalaba receives some treatment for Zambia and in truth, he needs a good barber. He's one of these types with a strange shape shaved into his head.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2015

A golden moment - Kennedy Mweene in the Zambia goal has collected a ball without spilling it.

Dieumerci Mbokani leaps to power a header, it looks like it's looping wide of the top corner but there is our man Kennedy to leap for the cameras and make the most of it. Good catch and nice acrobatics.

BBC Sport's Alex South in Ebebeyin: Thanks to the early goal, international football arrived in Ebebeyin with a bang - but folded arms now and those with seats have sat down. This lot want to be entertained.
