Now, pay attention. After what seems like a lifetime of working out mini-leagues and goal differences, we've come up with the definitive permutations of what can happen today. The key thing to remember is that one team will progress from each match.
Gabon v Equatorial Guinea is easy. If Gabon draw or win, they are through. If Equatorial Guinea win, then they qualify.
The other game is Congo v Burkina Faso. Now listen up at the back, this is where it gets complicated.
If Congo draw or win they qualify. Burkina Faso need a win to have a chance of going through. If Burkina Faso win and the other match has a winner, Burkina go through.
However, if the other match is a draw, then Burkina must win by two goals or more to qualify. In that scenario, a one-goal win for Burkina would see Congo go through. Clear?
