A sprinkling of Scotty Arfield magic and Burnley are in front. There appears to be no danger when the forward picks up the ball out on the left, but he jinks past a number of players on his way into the area before curling a shot across Rob Green and into the back of the net. If that was Lionel Messi, they'd be showing that over and over again. Class.

It is all Leicester at the moment with David Nugent in particular giving the Aston Villa defence a rough time. He just fails to get to a clever Marc Albrighton chipped pass, but manages to get a shot off soon after when his volley is deflected wide.

George Boyd with the first chance of the game for Burnley and the striker checks inside onto his left foot but his tame shot is straight at the keeper.

Everton's strength is almost their undoing. Seamus Coleman bursts down the right and checks past one challenge before losing the ball midway into the City half. The visitors break with Everton exposed and David Silva plays in a nice pass to Stevan Jovetic but the ball ends up in the side netting.

Hull can make it back-to-back Premier League wins if they beat West Brom today and they are the first to threaten, Maynor Figueroa - in his first Premier League start of the season - opening up space for himself just outside the area but curling a shot wide.

"We're only a few minutes into the game here and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is already complaining to the referee about Newcastle's time wasting."

  9. CLOSE!published at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2015

Swansea carve out the first opening of the game as Bafetimbi Gomis charges into the box, gets ahead of West Ham's James Collins and comes within a whisker of meeting Nathan Dyer's teasing cross with a diving header.

Not a lot from the Hammers so far. With Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll as the front two though there will be plenty of competition for any crosses into the Swansea box.

A couple of early goals in the Championship with Rodolph Austin giving Leeds the lead with a penalty kick away to Bolton, who start with Emile Heskey and Eidur Gudjohnsen up front.

Birmingham lead Wigan at St Andrew's with a Clayton Donaldson header.

Manchester City are trying to get Jesus Navas motoring down the right but they can't quite get him one on one with the full-back just yet. David Silva looks lively too. The visitors on top.

Chelsea have had a little bit of a wobble in recent weeks but they host Newcastle looking to protect their 100% record at home in the Premier League. They are stroking the ball around confidently in these opening stages, but it is Newcastle who have the first effort on goal, Moussa Sissoko scuffing a shot into the hands of Petr Cech.

Burnley have started like Brazil, according to our man with eyes on the match at Turf Moor. Always a good start that. No real chances yet though.

"There's been a tactical change from Everton already, with Steven Naismith moved out to the right to counter the threat of Pablo Zabaleta and Ross Barkley moved to a central position."

"I've got to fancy Manchester City because they've got superior players. If Everton draw today I think it'll be a moral victory for Roberto Martinez. The most hysterical comment I heard this week was from Robbie Savage, saying Martinez needed to be more like David Moyes. Martinez needs to be himself. Everton are very capable."

"I have felt sorry for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this month with criticism that he has become lazy. You could see against West Ham in the FA Cup that Everton's players made a point of getting the ball into him early, and more direct rather than passing it sideways. He looked a different player as a result and they will need to continue that against Manchester City."

The players are out at Goodison. How will Manchester City fare without Yaya Toure? They've not won an away match in the league without the big Ivorian since January 2013.

"Sean Dyche is a very impressive manager. Burnley are starting to believe. They've got to beat QPR if we are to take them seriously about staying up."
