"Cambridge United just have to enjoy the occasion. Their supporters have been here for an hour and a half already, the atmosphere is incredible. On paper Manchester United should stroll the game but you never know. The cameras are here for the upset. United's attitude has to right - because if it's not there will be an upset."

The Abbey erupts as the players emerge into the frozen night. A neutral's dream. Can we kick-start the weekend with a Cup cracker?

    A foregone conclusion?

Apparently not, if you are to be believed. We've been asking whether Cambridge can cause an upset, and 37% of you said the League Two club can do exactly that. Louis van Gaal - you have been warned.

You'll be able to vote for your man of the match via this page later on - so don't go anywhere!

"I've been amazed at the lack of expectation at Manchester United with the amount of money the manager has spent. It should be the minimum to get into the top four. I don't think any of his signings have been brilliant. When you look at the criticism other managers have got it's surprising that Louis van Gaal has got off so lightly."

I've been to Cambridge on a Friday night a few times to watch the mighty Cobblers - I've never heard it quite this loud before!

Almost time for kick-off. The Cambridge players emerge from the dressing room. Go well, be lucky - and as the sign above the door says 'Be honest.'

Cambridge midfielder and former Manchester United man Luke Chadwick: "It's going to be a great occasion for the team and it is great to see Manchester United grace the hallowed turf of Cambridge!

"I used to come and watch the club when it was on a high before and this is another big night. We are all buzzing and can't wait to pit our wits against such a great side.

"We are more than capable of coming out here and giving a good performance."

"Luke Chadwick used to come in to training at Manchester United with a Cambridge shirt on - he is such a massive fan of the club. Hopefully he can do his bit for them tonight. The biggest strength Cambridge have is the height of their team.

"Every time they get a deep free-kick or a corner they get the ball in the box and flood it with players. Just the sheer height of their players allows them to dominate, and because they commit so many forward, they are also really good at maintaining the momentum of their attacks."

"They might have big players, but Cambridge United can play a bit as well. Cameron McGeehan, on loan from Norwich, has been really impressive since he's come in and he'll be a danger along with Ryan Donaldson. Manchester United must respect them."

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal speaking to Match Of The Day before kick-off: "I am always preparing for my games very seriously. We have a structure so we know that always these types of matches there is a surprise. We have to be not be the club that is the surprise.

"Our formation? You have to look. I don't give any aspects away before the game. But I think everyone will look and quickly see if it is a four or five (at the back).

"We have prepared for their height, of course. We have to trained for that aspect. But we have to play our own game and that's important. Against Yeovil Town you saw that we play a little in their style, but that's not ours. We have to play our own game and then we shall survive."

Mark O'Meara: Cambridge is a classic tiny Football League ground. Went in November. Will be a great one tonight.

Alan Shearer has picked out midfielders Cameron McGeehan and Ryan Donaldson as the ones to watch in the Cambridge team.

Cambridge have seven outfield players starting who are over six foot tall. Got to go big! No wonder that Marouane Fellaini starts...

Cambridge United boss Richard Money: "We played at Wembley twice last season which has given us some insight into the media attention for this game.

"We are well prepared. We've enjoyed it, you have to. We've handled it pretty well. The romance of the Cup still exists.

"In the last 18 months this club has been rejuvenated and tonight's game is just reward for all of those people who have worked so hard behind the scenes."

Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville
    BBC Sport

"Louis van Gaal has said the back four in the 4-4-2 gives him a 'squeaky bum', but I think the players prefer the back four, with Michael Carrick at the base of a diamond in midfield - that suits Manchester United better. Abroad, the cup competitions aren't that important, but the difference between the line-up tonight and the line-up van Gaal selected against Milton Keynes in the League Cup earlier this season, shows he recognises that it is important here."

  16. Postpublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

Just 15 minutes to go until kick-off. What a night for players like the superbly named Tom Champion in the Cambridge midfield - this is his first season in the Football League after a career with Bishops Stortford and Dartford. What a leap...

  17. Postpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

    Alan Shearer
BBC Sport at the Abbey Stadium

"I don't think either four or three at the back has worked for Manchester United. The players aren't good enough and Louis van Gaal knows more than anyone that it's area they must improve.

"Van Gaal showed a little bit of disrespect against MK Dons in the League Cup and they were knocked out. He's gone with a much stronger team tonight."

  18. Postpublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

Louis van Gaal said yesterday that he gets a 'twitchy bum' every time his side play with a back four - but we think that he has lined up with one tonight. Can Cambridge get the Dutchman squirming tonight?

  19. Postpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

    Alan Shearer
BBC Sport at the Abbey Stadium

"It was a dream draw when it was made, because it's an unbelievable opportunity for Richard Money and his players to make names for themselves. He will just tell them there's no pressure on them. Just go out and enjoy it and don't leave anything in the dressing room.

"I think it will be a very different experience for the United players with their direct style which they won't be used to and it's freezing cold out there as well."

Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville
    BBC Sport

"The FA Cup is probably the only chance of silverware Manchester United have got this season and I think this will be tougher than the game against Yeovil. Cambridge play direct football, and a lot of the United players will not have played in grounds like this. The atmosphere here is great."
