  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

They get their wish but Tottenham might consider themselves fortunate to finish the half with 11 men as Eric Dier, already on a booking, catches Diego Costa again. It is missed by the officials.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Tottenham need half time as they almost fall behind. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has to be alert to keep out Branislav Ivanovic's header across goal.

    John Terry scoresImage source, Reuters

Terrible defending by Tottenham and Chelsea captain John Terry fires his side into the lead. Willian's free kick from the right, brushes off Danny Rose's head, falls into the path of Terry and the defender shoots into the net, via a deflection of Harry Kane.

"Tottenham have grown stronger and stronger as this half has gone on and they will feel they deserve a goal before half-time. For Chelsea, Eden Hazard is having a really tough time of it out there. Spurs wouldn't want anybody to come off injured of course, but you have to say well done to Kyle Walker."

  7. Postpublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Kyle Walker does not look comfortable as he bids to play out the remainder of the first half. I'm not sure we will see him after the break though.

A wild shot from Ryan Mason 25 yards out and those fans in the top tier at Wembley behind the goal get a rare touch of the ball. Both sets of players need a bit more quality in the final third.

Concern for Spurs as right back Kyle Walker goes down holding his knee. Federico Fazio is warming up...

  9. Postpublished at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

This is more like a basketball match at the moment - without the handballs obviously - as the teams take it in turns to break forward. Not many real chances yet but both sides look dangerous on the break.

"Kurt Zouma is so quick. He just zooms - you can't help but say it, and that is what he did on Christian Eriksen just now (see 34 mins). Eriksen got away from him, but Zouma just caught him up. He's as fast as any footballer I know."

"One thing we can safely say now is that Diego Costa will target Eric Dier. Can the Chelsea striker further wind up the Tottenham defender now he is on a yellow card and get him to react?"

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

"In the absence of anything resembling a goalscoring opportunity, we can at least rely on Chelsea's Diego Costa to keep the pot boiling at Wembley. Tottenham's Nabil Bentaleb was unhappy with a hand-off, then a quick ruck with Kyle Walker and on to a collision with Eric Dier, who goes into the book for a foul on Costa. And Chelsea's striker seems to love every second of it."

  13. Postpublished at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Tottenham are trying to take advantage of Kurt Zouma's inexperience as a defensive midfielder and are not doing a bad job of it, with Christian Eriksen bursting past him on several occasions.

Terence O'Keeffe: Arsenal 1 - 3 Swindon 1969 final. Sweet. One acceptable piece of STFC history.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

That has been brewing. Eric Dier gets a yellow card for a late tackle on Diego Costa. Harsh booking for the Tottenham defender.

    Former Scotland international Pat Nevin

"Diego Costa, with his chest puffed out, has been winding the Spurs defenders up, and they are reacting. That's what he wants, but he does push things to their limit at times. He put his hand in Nabil Bentaleb's face, but he didn't strike him.

"Costa certainly hasn't been looking as sharp as he was before his three-match ban though."

A rare lull in proceedings is halted as Diego Costa again gets involved in a bit of fisticuffs. The striker flails his arm towards Nabil Bentaleb and connects with the Tottenham man flush in his face. Tottenham's players are furious, with Kyle Walker bumping into the striker, but nothing doing.

Stunning stuff from Willian as he again breaks for Chelsea before sending a diagonal pass into the path of the marauding Eden Hazard. The Belgian cuts back onto his right foot inside the penalty area but his goal bound shot is well blocked by Eric Dier.

    Danny Rose shootsImage source, PA

A brilliant driving run from Danny Rose. The defender controls the ball with his chest at the halfway line before sprinting down the left flank. His shot though is a let down as he drags the ball well, well wide. A busy start for the Tottenham defender.
