"Christian Eriksen is Tottenham's dangerman and Kurt Zouma is trying to stay with him at the moment. But it is a danger for Chelsea when Zouma finds himself dragged out to the left or right."

"I did a piece for the BBC Sport website about Harry Kane. He always, always shoots across the goalkeeper when he's outside the box, and already Petr Cech anticipated one (see 11 mins) and gathered easily. But the interesting thing will be to see whether Kane can successfully adapt his game in the future.

"A lot of the talk has been about Kane but whenever Christian Eriksen gets the ball Kurt Zouma is on to him like a shot."

"Tottenham's usual suspects are providing the early optimism - Harry Kane running at defenders and testing Chelsea keeper Petr Cech while Christian Eriksen has bounced a free-kick off the bar. Mauricio Pochettino is demanding another high tempo performance from Spurs, while Chelsea striker Diego Costa is, to no-one's great surprise, already showing flashes of aggression."

  7. Postpublished at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

A hefty challenge by Ramires on Danny Rose sends the full back flying over his shoulder. No yellow card but he will have to be careful now.

  8. Postpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Tottenham are on top now. Ryan Mason unleashes an absolute thunderbolt from 20 yards but the shot is blocked. Chelsea immediately break as Willian pulls the ball back to Eden Hazard and his curling effort from just outside the penalty area flies wide.

Both teams looking dangerous early on.

"The free-kick (see 10 mins) came after a poor challenge from Cesc Fabregas - not normally noted for his tackling. There wasn't a better centimetre on the field for Christian Eriksen to shoot from. Petr Cech was beaten, but oddly he seemed to let it go - that would have been serious confidence."

Harry Kane turns with the ball in his own half, shows John Terry a clean pair of heels as he advances 40 yards, before shooting low at goalkeeper Petr Cech from 20 yards.

Chance for Tottenham as Harry Kane is scythed down by Cesc Fabregas 25 yards from goal.

Christian Eriksen takes a few steps back, runs up to the ball, and curls it against the cross bar. Great effort.

  12. Postpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

Hugo Lloris was in all sorts of trouble there. Branislav Ivanovic's looping cross is heading towards John Terry's head at the back post but the retreating Tottenham goalkeeper just about gets back to palm the ball away. Ivanovic heads the resulting corner wide.

"That's what Diego Costa wants - he wants that physical challenge straight away. He wants it to get himself up for the game."

"Anytime anything happens Diego Costa is usually involved isn't he? He likes to put himself about. But opposition players shouldn't get wound up, because that's what Costa wants to happen."

Lovely interplay between Diego Costa and Ramires around Tottenham's box but the latter's shot is blocked.

Seconds later a few handbags on show as Diego Costa reacts angrily to a fair tackle by Eric Dier inside the penalty area. Costa involved in a bit of a scrap? Never.

Tottenham fans making themselves heard with a rendition of 'when the Spurs go marching in' as their side enjoy a bit of pressure themselves. Danny Rose almost works a shooting opportunity before being crowded out on the edge of the penalty area.

"Since their 5-0 win over Swansea, Chelsea have been very cautious. I think they will play on the break. You might have thought Chelsea would be favourites, but I don't think that is how the game is going to play out from the start.

"Spurs are strongest in the area where Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane link up. That is where Nemanja Matic would have played, and it looks like that is where Kurt Zouma will play. I thought it could have been Gary Cahill."

  18. Postpublished at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

An early half chance for Chelsea as Willian crosses from the left and John Terry heads well over the bar. Good start.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2015

So it looks as though Gary Cahill is not playing central midfield for Chelsea after all, with Kurt Zouma lining up to play there instead. Still a brave call by boss Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese kisses a chain - presumably for luck - as we get under way.
