Swansea manager Garry Monk: "I set targets at the start of the season and we can achieve some of those targets now. It's a good motivational tool for us [to beat our record points tally].

"Roberto Martinez and I were team-mates, he's a great guy and was a great captain and I'm following in his footsteps now. Hopefully I can go on to achieve what he has in management. We are two form teams and I'm looking forward to the game."

Everton have had a stuttering sort of season under Roberto Martinez this time around, but they are in good nick at the moment.

In fact, Everton are looking to win four successive league games for the first time this season.

Swansea are on 46 points in eighth place in the Premier League - they have never amassed more than 47 in a Premier League season and can break the record this afternoon.

However, the Swans have never beaten Everton in 19 league meetings down the years. Is it a case of 20th time lucky?

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

"Ten years ago this weekend Roberto Martinez and Garry Monk lined up together for Swansea in front of a crowd of 5,000 at Lincoln City's Sincil Bank.

"A last-minute own goal by Monk saw them lose 1-0 to jeopardise their chances of promotion from League Two. They recovered, held their nerve and weeks later achieved their goal. Martinez was club captain.

"Three years later, with Martinez as manager and Monk as his captain, Swansea won the League One title. The likeable Spaniard was worshipped by the Jack Army but that heroic status plummeted when he quit the club in 2009 to further his managerial career at Wigan.

"Now his Everton side arrive in South Wales nine points and four places below Swansea in the Premier League standings. The irony will not be lost on the home fans and Martinez can expect a feisty 'welcome' on his return to the Liberty Stadium."

    Afternoon everyone.

Whatever way you look at it, we're firmly lodged in the 'business end' of the season now, with life at the top and bottom of the Premier League set to be crystallised soon.

And life smack bang in the middle too. First up today is a lunchtime trip to sunny Swansea - it looks like a lovely day at the Liberty but Tim Howard is still wearing a snood as he goes through his warm-up.

Can Swansea get one over on old boss Roberto Martinez?

Just the one change for Swansea as they look to reach 47 points or more for the first time in the Premier League. Angel Rangel comes back at right-back in place of the injured Kyle Naughton.

Everton are again without top scorer Romelu Lukaku, who has a hamstring injury, so Arouna Kone leads the line.

Swansea XI: Fabianski, Rangel, Taylor, Fernandez, Williams, Ki, Cork, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Gomis

Everton XI: Howard, Coleman, Baines, Jagielka, Stones, Barry, McCarthy, Lennon, Barkley, Osman, Kone

At 12:15 BST, fifth-placed Derby face seventh-placed Brentford in the Championship. The Bees will overtake the Rams in the table if they win.

And that is quite feasible, with the Rams losing form at this crucial stage of the season. Monday's 2-0 win over struggling Wigan was their first win in eight games. Brentford - who are parting company with manager Mark Warburton at the end of the season - are unbeaten in four games.

We are bringing you dedicated live text commentary, and BBC Radio 5 live commentary, on this website from 12:00 BST.
