Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew said: "Our fans were singing 'it's like watching Brazil', and it was today. We were terrific and we caused Sunderland a lot of problems.
"It was an emphatic win and the scoreline didn't even do us justice. We had so many chances. We were great and that's seven away wins out of eight games - at a professional level that's unbelievable.
"We never looked in any danger. This performance won't get many headlines as we're mid-table but it was an outstanding performance."
Almost go time at Turf Moor.

Daz, Daz, Daz. West Brom are seven points clear of relegation with six games to go. Lighten up...
Dan: "Sherwood is a motivator of players rather than a tactician so far. I prefer Pochettino as our current boss but Sherwood and Villa deserved the points today."
Daz: "Pulis out, WBA are a football team. I never wanted him and we are still going down. Our run in is horrendous."
Matthew: Re: James: Complaining about those who deserve to be in the Spurs team? Try being a Sunderland fan. Shocking performance once again.

Hull manager Steve Bruce:
"It's a crazy game at times. We certainly didn't deserve, in my opinion, to get beat 2-0.
"We did enough to warrant getting something out of it. But we gave away a bad goal. It was a penalty. And we are where we are because of our inability to score goals.
"The one thing that did disappoint me was a yellow card for Graziano Pelle. I think it warranted a bit more than that.
"If the referee does see the forearm smash across Alex Bruce's face it's certainly a red card. But he's not given it for that."
Craig Andrew Smith: Driving home from the Sunderland match. What's worse than thinking back to that game, is thinking ahead to the remaining fixtures.
Jake Edwards: Huge win for Aston Villa that. Tim Sherwood is a magician. Christian Benteke is a god.
Joe Wedgwood: Cracking retro West Brom kit today. Teams should do it more often! Seem to remember a Manchester United one a few years back v Manchester City.

In our Arsenal line-up the eagle-eyed among you spotted that we only had 10 players! I can tell you it was Laurent Koscielny who I missed out.
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson: "The way we started it looked an unlikely outcome. To be fair to the players, in the second half, we showed a lot more quality. We deserved three points, because we never stopped believing we could get something from the game.
"We still have a lot of work to do, but back-to-back wins are very important now and we have to make it three now. We had to try and force the issue late on and Jamie Vardy took the chance late on after we put on that pressure."
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman on Graziano Pelle:
"He played well and worked very hard but he has to score goals. That's the best feeling a striker can get.
"He lives to score goals and if it's been a long time it does something for your confidence.
"Now he will be back to the player he was at the beginning of the season."
Championship: Norwich's late winner at Bolton leaves the top five places unchanged, but Derby drift a couple of points after their early draw with Brentford. Ipswich move into the last play-off sport after holding off a spirited effort from relegated Blackpool.
League One: Relegation bunfight news: Yeovil are down after failing to beat Notts County; Coventry and Scunthorpe edge away from trouble, each reaching the 50-point mark with wins against basement rivals.
League Two: No change at top or bottom, but in the play-off race Plymouth and Stevenage - with a last-gasp winner - are the main beneficiaries of defeats for Newport and Exeter.
Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks
Final Score
"Today could be the turning point for Leicester. I have to change my position because today there was everything I didn't see at Sunderland - a team that wanted to survive."
Tim Sherwood provokes more knee-jerk reactions than most managers - but what are your thoughts tonight Spurs fans? Would you rather have him in the dugout or down the M6 at Villa Park?
Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood: "It's a fantastic result - we carried on from the good performance in the 3-3 draw against QPR. We thought we could have a good go and we did. I thought we deserved to win. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy made the decision [to sack me] based on what he thought was the right thing to do. Mauricio Pochettino is doing a good job. Without Spurs giving me the job last year, I wouldn't have been here today to enjoy this win.
"We've got some tough games. No-one gave us a chance here or at Manchester City in the next league game. We're within touching distance. On the downside we picked up a few injuries.
"The club weren't creating chances for Christian Benteke before I arrived. It's about conserving his energy, keeping him high up the field and using him to penetrate teams. The shackles are off him now.
"It's a fantastic result for me and Aston Villa."
What is that? The Can-Can?
On a day where we've been asking for your season in 'emojis', Leicester defender Danny Simpson has got in on the action, summing up Jamie Vardy's winner against West Brom.
A Burnley win would carry them out of the bottom three. An Arsenal win would close the gap on leaders Chelsea.

Arsenal
Burnley name the same team that drew 0-0 with Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham last weekend, with Clarets striker Danny Ings looking to end a 614-minute goal drought that stretches back to the 12th-minute of their defeat by Manchester United on 11 February, and is already the longest he has gone without a goal this season.
The in-form Gunners, who demolished Liverpool 4-1 in their last outing, are also unchanged as they try to become the first top-flight team this season to win eight league games in a row. Defender Laurent Koscielny has shaken off hip and thigh problems to start and goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is back on the bench after recovering from a rib injury.
Burnley starting XI: Heaton; Trippier, Duff, Shackell (c), Mee; Boyd, Arfield, Jones, Barnes; Vokes, Ings
Arsenal starting XI: Ospina, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil, Alexis, Giroud
James: "The list of Spurs players who deserve to play in the Premier League is much shorter than the list of those who don't. No passion, desire or commitment coming from anywhere and this defence is Championship standard."
Jim: "I'm bitterly disappointed with Spurs today. Had we won we'd only be four points behind Man City and we are playing them at the Lane next month."
