Leicester continue to ask questions of West Brom. A ball behind the home full-back almost finds Jamie Vardy, but he is denied by a sliding block from Boaz Myhill. City are still very much in this game.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino clearly feels he needs to liven up his front line. On comes Roberto Soldado, who many may feel is not quite the spark a losing side needs. Off goes Nacer Chadli. Villa also make a change with Andreas Weimann on for Jack Grealish.

Dear oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear!

I'd call it schoolboy defending from Sunderland but that would be offensive to schoolboys. Sunderland leave two men back to deal with Glenn Murray, and he makes mincemeat out of them. John O'Shea bounces off him, Murray walks into the box and finds Yannick Bolasie, who is able to go past the keeper and stab in with two defenders on the line. Embarrassing.

    An 11-minute hat-trick!

Championship: Middlesbrough's Lee Tomlin makes the first decisive move of the Championship second halves, smashing in at the Riverside to open the scoring against Rotherham. A win would lift Boro above Norwich into third if the scores stay the same. They won't. Will they?

Can this get any worse for Sunderland? You bet. Wilfried Zaha is the latest pace merchant to rag through the Black Cats' defence and put the ball on Glenn Murray's foot, but this time the big man can't steer it home.

Harry Kane comes as close as he has all afternoon to a goal with a curling shot from the edge of the box that flies just a yard over the Villa goal.

    Final Score

"Glenn Murray has been in really hot form since he came back from a loan at Reading. He did well to pounce after a deflected Yannick Bolasie shot for Palace's first goal, and provided Bolasie with the second with a lovely header.

"Crystal Palace are a joy to watch when they've got the ball, while Sunderland have nothing."

Saido Berahino may be sporting the number nine once worn by Jeff Astle but he has not endeared himself to the Baggies fans by shooting when he had a team-mate screaming for the ball in an unmarked position in the box. Selfish and wasteful from the striker.

Meanwhile, over at Aintree, the Grand National is about to start. Can AP McCoy finish his career with a glorious victory? You can find out with our live page here.

    Final Score

"This could suck out all that confidence Sunderland got against Newcastle last week. They have some difficult games and are getting sucked back in again. Last week you could have picked out any player in the Sunderland defence for praise - they are a shadow of what they were against Newcastle."

  11. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 11 April 2015

Leonardo Ulloa goes down in the box as he is tackled while coming to the near post to meet a low cross. The Leicester fans scream for a penalty, but the City players seem less convinced.

Sadio Mane looked likely to take the spot-kick but half-time sub James Ward-Prowse takes the ball off him and fires in only his second career goal. Ice calm.

The Sunderland defence has collapsed like a pack of cards! We've seen this before of course. Again it's Yannick Bolasie who gets in behind and he produces a gem of a finish, a little chip into the far corner. Beautifully judged.

Sunderland fans head for the exits...

  15. Postpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 11 April 2015

Spurs come close to drawing level as Andros Townsend breaks away down the right and tries to pick out Harry Kane in the middle, but his cross is a yard over the striker and Villa survive.

The old Glenn Murray-Yannick Bolasie combo does the damage again for Crystal Palace! Murray with an absolutely textbook centre-forward's flick on, beats his man in the air and puts it perfectly into the path of Bolasie, cutting in from the left wing. Bolasie only has to stretch out a foot and flick past Costel Pantilimon and Sunderland are in real trouble now.

A Sunderland defeat today would leave them just three points ahead of QPR and the relegation zone - and their last two games of the season are away at Arsenal and away at Chelsea...

Former Arsenal & Aston Villa defender Martin Keown
    Final Score

"A win at White Hart Lane would be huge for Aston Villa. If you're one of the clubs down at the bottom of the table and can get a lifeline, where nobody expects you to, it's a massive boost. Especially when you look at the scoreline at Leicester."

    Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks
    Final Score

"Villa are looking good. Today they have been bright, with Gabriel Agbonlahor lively. If they can get a result here, it will put them on 32 points. I think 35 points will keep you in the division. It's looking like a decent job by Tim Sherwood."
