"There's all this talk about Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale and if they like each other, but you can see the difference tonight. Bale takes people away from Ronaldo... without him, Atletico can afford to have two players on Ronaldo."

"That's the best opportunity by far. He should have scored, it was a good save though. Atletico gave the ball away in midfield, that's unusual."

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:31 British Summer Time 22 April 2015

The chance of the game! Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak denied Gareth Bale in the first leg and he produces a very similar save to spring from his lien and save brilliantly from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Atletico gave it away level with the 18-yard box, James Rodriguez picks out Ronaldo with a lovely first-time pass and Ronaldo sidefoots one at Oblak. A good save, but you'd bank on Ronaldo to score.

Cristiano Ronaldo shows everyone why he started off as a right winger, drops the shoulder and delivers a Beckham-esque ball in. Nobody there to meet it though and Atletico defend it easily.

Peter in Darlington: Shane Daly, are you mad? Two set piece goals AGAINST Atletico? Never going to happen!

Sergio Ramos reacts to Saul after the midfielder trips him. Ramos takes exception to the challenge and slaps his hand away. Referee Felix Brych is on the case and shuts it down before it escalates.

There's definitely a red card in this game in the second half.

Naren Ramachandran: Reply to Eduardo from Brixton. Chelsea do it against teams like Sunderland. Atleti doing it against Madrid in UCL semis.

Colin Todd: Atletico always get good value for their yellow cards.

They do indeed Colin. Much like your son Andy if memory serves...

Atletico commit men forwards in numbers for the first real time but the ball in from out wide is not up to scratch. Cristiano Ronaldo is the latest man to go to ground too easily. Stay on your feet.

    Danny Mills

"The tempo is playing into Atletico's hands. Real should make full use of the multi-ball system and when the ball does go out of play, try and catch one of the Atletico players off guard."

  16. Postpublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 22 April 2015

Fernando Torres is on the bench for Atletico Madrid tonight. He's still a hero in Madrid and you wouldn't rule out him having an intervention in this game. Forget his spell at Chelsea. He has.

"Simeone will be happy because Atletico still have that clean sheet. They are defending deep and it makes it hard for Real Madrid to move the ball quickly. It's very cagey and the first goal is going to be pivotal."

  18. Postpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 22 April 2015

It's a fair point Eduardo. I guess Chelsea can't often claim to be underdogs though. Does that make a difference?

Eduardo, Brixton: When Chelsea defend like this they get slated. When Atletico do it, everyone laps it up.

Arda Turan now into the book for his third foul of the night. Free-kick, hit by Cristiano Ronaldo, loads of swerve, and Jan Oblak punches it away. Real smell a goal.
