Matthew Norton: If Sunderland can hold their nerves over next couple of weeks, Newcastle are gone. Huge win! Can't see Newcastle winning again.

Josh, Sunderland: Southampton fans, you may have beaten us 8-0, but we may have just cost you Europe. We're even.

Kevin L: Well done to Plymouth on securing the final play-off place in League Two. Superb considering they had to go up against a team giving everything to be champions.

In the day's late game, there is only one change for Manchester United from the side that lost 3-0 at Everton on Sunday. And it is an attacking one from Louis van Gaal as Robin van Persie comes into the side, to replace Luke Shaw, who is not in United's 18. It means Angel Di Maria remains on the bench, and is joined by Phil Jones who has recovered from an ankle injury.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis changes two of his starting 11 from the 0-0 draw against Liverpool as Jonas Olsson and Youssouf Mulumbu come in for James Morrison and Victor Anichebe.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, McNair, Blind, Mata, Herrera, Fellaini, Young, Rooney, van Persie.

West Bromwich Albion XI: Myhill, Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Lescott, Brunt, Yacob, Gardner, Mulumbu, Fletcher, Berahino.

"It was a subdued first half but Liverpool went in ahead at half-time and then they had the chance to put the game to bed but there were bad misses by Sterling and Lallana before Gerrard missed a penalty.

"But he bounced back and won the game. It was a spirited performance by QPR, they made Liverpool work hard but the circumstances were hard for them. They felt for their friend and colleague Rio Ferdinand, it was a difficult day but they can be proud with the performance and they showed a lot of character."

Burton win the League Two title with a 3-2 win at Cambridge. Shrewsbury go up in second with Bury third. Southend, Wycombe, Stevenage and Plymouth will contest the play-offs.
