  1. CLOSE!published at 16:18 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Swansea are going closer and closer. Gylfi Sigurdsson is the guilty culprit again as he slots wide from 10 yards.

    Sunderland celebrateImage source, AP

Sunderland are flying. The fans are up for it, the players are up for it and manager Dick Advocaat looks like he fancies it too.

A win would be huge for Sunderland in their fight against relegation but it also keeps Southampton out of the top six in their bid for a Europa League place.

You lucky man! Romelu Lukaku gives Shay Given the eyes, waits for him to move and then scuffs the penalty past him and into the corner. But it barely beat Given's dive. A real bobbler.

  4. PENALTY to Evertonpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Everton have been much improved and get a penalty. Another cracking run from Romelu Lukaku, the ball runs on for Steven Naismith and Ron Vlaar's clumsy challenge trips the Scot up.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Matty Taylor could have had a really big impact on Burnley's chances of survival this season. He hit the post with a penalty last week and hits the post again with a low shot.

"James Ward-Prowse just runs in to Jermain Defoe, there is no malice but he clears him out. A lovely penalty from Jordi Gomez, such calm at a really important moment."

  7. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Chance! Close. Kevin Nolan does well to turn the ball on for midfielder Morgan Amalfitano, he goes for a curler into the far corner and slides it just past the post.

  8. CLOSE!published at 16:13 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

You quite simply have to score those! Jordan Henderson looks up and picks out Raheem Sterling at the far post, he's six yards out, unmarked, Kop End, but he slices it horribly wide. Any decent connection and it's a goal.

    Gomez celebratesImage source, PA

As cool as you like. Jordi Gomez scores his second penalty of the afternoon to put Sunderland back ahead.

The Stadium of Light is absolutely buzzing as, if results stay the same, the Black Cats move to within a point of safety. A huge goal.

  10. Postpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Everton midfielder James McCarthy trips Fabian Delph and then appears to stand on him too.

Clumsy rather than malicious I'd suggest.

  11. RED CARD TO SOUTHAMPTONpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

The Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse is given a straight red card for what is deemed a professional foul.

  12. PENALTY TO SUNDERLANDpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

    James Ward-ProwseImage source, PA

Jermain Defoe is played in on goal by Danny Graham's pass and is downed by James Ward-Prowse. Penalty - although looks a tad harsh.

  13. CLOSE!published at 16:11 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Moans of frustration from the Sunderland fans as their side almost gift Southampton the lead. Santiago Vergini sloppily passes the ball straight to Filip Duricic on the edge of the penalty area, but he fires wide. A let off for the hosts.

"Liverpool need to raise the temp and lift the crowd. I went for a cup of tea at half-time and there were some disgruntled fans around me. They feel Liverpool have given up as a group for fourth place and they finished second last season. They put in a lame performance in the FA Cup semi-final and lost to United and there is the Rodgers situation and Gerrard leaving and they are not a happy bunch of fans and you can sense that atmosphere today"

  15. WHAT A MISSpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Gylfi Sigurdsson, hang your head in shame. The Swansea midfielder heads over from yards out. A howler of a miss.

  16. CLOSE!published at 16:09 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Burnley striker Danny Ings works the channels well, pulls out to the right this time and burns past the covering West Ham defender. He's in on goal but goes for the near post instead of the far - hitting the side-netting.

  17. CLOSE!published at 16:07 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

    Coutinho shootsImage source, PA

Lovely work from Philippe Coutinho again, spinning out of a tackle and feeding a pass into the run of Adam Lallana. He's in on goal, one on one - but he slices it horribly wide.

  18. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Gylfi Sigurdsson is inches away from an opener. The Swansea man curls the ball goal wards, it beats goalkeeper Jack Butland but crashes off the bar to safety.

  19. CLOSE!published at 16:05 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Everton need to considerably up their game and the early signs are good. Romelu Lukaku picks the ball up deep and drives at the heart of the Villa defence, he beats two men and then drags his shot just wide from 25 yards.
