So, so close for Sunderland. Connor Wickham drives through Southampton's midfield, combines with Jermain Defoe, before his shot is deflected into the path of Defoe. The former England man's diving header is finger tipped away by goalkeeper Kelvin Davis and Danny Graham is unable to convert the loose ball.

Patrick van Aanholt does well down the left and his low cross picks the Sunderland striker out unmarked 10 yards out. Wickham though lifts his head and side foots wildly over the bar. He should do better.

Now they pose a threat at all times, hitting their front men early and getting the impressive Fabian Delph on the ball whenever they can. The sideways pass has gone.

They look the more dangerous although goalkeeper Kelvin Davis hasn't been called into action too much. Sunderland are currently three points adrift of safety.

It is too little, too late for Cheltenham. They are already down and heading out of the Football League, but are winning 1-0 in their final game after Durrell Berry's goal in their away match at AFC Wimbledon.

Well, Tom Elliott has just headed in an equaliser for Cambridge to make it 1-1, although Burton are still on course to win the division as second-placed Shrewsbury are losing 1-0 at home to Plymouth.

Southampton are pushing for a second goal now. Ryan Bertrand does well down the flank but his cross is headed over by Graziano Pelle. The Black Cats are currently three points adrift of safety. A gap is in danger of appearing between the bottom three and the others.
