Pleasingly for Arsenal fans, it would appear they don't need any major surgery over the summer to be able pose a closer title challenge next season.
Arsene Wenger appears to have found his strongest XI, giving him the luxury of naming a settled same XI in their last four games, and they are getting the results on the pitch.
A world-class keeper away from being a genuine contender?

"The game between Hull and Burnley next weekend is the game of the day for me next week. It's going to be massive. If they can beat Burnley, I think they will stay up. But the tension will be incredible."
Hull City boss Steve Bruce, speaking to Sky Sports: "When you are trying to chase with the quality Arsenal have it is there for everyone to see. It was one of those really difficult evening and thankfully we stuck at it, which was pleasing, and we have a big game at the weekend [against Burnley].
"We wanted to make sure in the second half it was not one of those horrible evenings. You are torn, you want to chase the game but then again you don't want to leave yourself wide open. We gave ourselves a chance with the goal but we played against a very, very good side and found it difficult.
"We have to respond, they have been used to that over the last couple of years but we have to dust ourselves down and get ready for the weekend and the next few games because we are still in there with a shout.
"It [the Burnley game] is not going to keep us up or send us down because there are still two games after that. We still have it all to do and it is a big game, we are aware of that. A result will be good."

"I think Burnley and QPR are going to struggle, but the fight for the last remaining relegation place will go down to the last game."
Here is how the bottom of the table looks for Hull, who remain one point above the relegation zone but drop to 17th on goal difference.
The Tigers have home games against Burnley and Manchester United to come, as well as an away trip to Tottenham. You would think three points will see them home and dry, but things might get a bit tense if they fail to get them against Burnley...
Arsene Wenger on BBC Sport: "We created some good moments today, overall I could see a good mix between focus, fluency and confidence - and with the technical qualities we have we created some good moments.
"It is all about finishing second for us, step by step, I believe now we are certain to make the top four and now it is about finishing second but even more so to keep the quality high and concentrate on the next game.
"Being in the cup final helps us to keep our concentration but I feel we have made progress and we want to continue to develop as a team. Jack Wilshere returned and had a good game in his 25 minutes so that is a big positive. Aaron Ramsey got a big kick and that is swollen but it should not be too bad."

"I think it is vital Arsenal finish second. It is probably not a position you should be proud of, but they are making progress- they won the FA Cup last year and they are going in the right direction.
"Of al the teams in the top four I think they are the best equipped to challenge next year."
Arsenal stay third after that win but are level on points with second-place Manchester City, and they have a game in hand. They have three home games to come and just the one away, at Manchester United.
Can they secure a first top two finish in a decade?
Here it is, the moment you have all been waiting for.
You have been voting this evening on what Star Wars character (because it is Star Wars Day) Arsene Wenger would be and the winner is...Yoda with 31.9% of the vote.
Like it, he will?
Arsenal's Santi Cazorla: "The team are in a good moment. We want to keep this level until the end of the season. Second is important for me and the team, so we need to keep this level going.
"We want to win the title next year, we want to to stay in second until the end of the season but the most important thing now is to finish in the Champions League and win the FA Cup."
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Great win from the boys tonight and good to see Jack Wilshere back on the pitch.
No surprise to see Arsenal very dominant in the full-time possession stats. They also finished with 22 shots on goal, compared to seven for Hull, nine of those on target.

"Some fans have stayed behind to applaud the Hull players"
"Hull were beaten by an outstanding team performance and Steve Bruce will probably say that to his players. Hull started the game too slow and couldn't recover from that because Arsenal were too good but at least in the second half they showed more spirit."
Ronaldo Burgundy: Credit where it's due, Hull consolidated well and actually won the second half 1-0.
AGrumpyMan: Goal difference will decide last relegation spot. Newcastle and Villa should worry. All good for my Leicester!

Phil Neville has been very strong on Arsenal tonight - suggesting they are a world-class keeper away from being genuine title contenders.
Do you agree?

"I think Arsenal need a world class keeper. If they get that keeper in who wins games for them by saving those goals, I think Arsenal could be a Championship-winning team."
All over and it is a deserved win for Arsenal. Hull put up more of a fight in the second half but the game was all but won by the visitors in the first 45 minutes.
The win all but seals a top four finish for Arsenal while Hull remain one point above the relegation zone.

"I hear Arsenal fans say they want a new manager, maybe a Klopp? But you just have to look at the play in that first half. I'm a massive fan of Wenger's football"
One last chance as Alexis Sanchez, on a hat-trick, breaks on the counter, twists and turns to get inside the area but slices wide of the far post.
