Rachel Wilson: You know the footballing gods are against you. Lucky lucky Sunderland...desperation setting in for us Geordies.
Some stony faces on display at the KC Stadium as they hear the news from Merseyside.

"Dick Advocaat will turn round and say it's not about performances, it's about results, and he has a point. Everton have dominated this match and it's hard to believe Sunderland have won 2-0. Great defending and this is a great result for Sunderland Football Club."
Four minutes of injury time for Sunderland to see out. Replays show that Jermain Defoe got a hand on that second deflected goal. He doesn't mind. Everton probably do.
Head on over to the BBC Football homepage, where a host of live texts have sprung up.
John Carver must be wondering what he's done to deserve all of this. Even Sunderland are flying now.

"It's a unbelievable result. They haven't really played good football but they've dug in and they've got two deflections and looks like they're going to win the game. It will be Dick Top Cat soon."
If you thought Sunderland's first goal was lucky, you need to check out their second on Match of the Day tonight. Steven Fletcher looks like he's lost the chance to shoot when he is forced across the area but the ball lands at the feet of Adam Johnson who takes a shot which deflects off Seamus Coleman and Jermain Defoe to totally bamboozle Tim Howard. Goal!
Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood on starting with Gabby Agbonlahor on the bench: "The team's been playing really well, so they deserve to keep the shirt. It's up to the other boys to get it off them.
"Gabby's had a week's training and he's ready to cause mayhem. The players know we're in a serious situation. They don't need reminding, although I've reminded them."
Seamus Coleman goes tumbling under Jermain Defoe's lazy challenge as he prepares to shoot. Penalty? Everton implore the referee Lee Probert who shakes his head. Sunderland got lucky there.
Good news Sunderland fans. You might be out of the woods - the last seven goals Everton have scored in this fixture have been netted between the 75th and 81st minute.

"You've got to say Everton have dominated the game but it's just the final decision, should I pass, should I shoot?
"Sunderland have done well when they have lost the ball. When they have had to put their bodies on the line around the penalty area they have."
West Ham
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce on the prospect of Europa League qualification through the Fair Play league: "We've known for a few weeks. We've been planning the two scenarios.
"We'll know by the end of the season if we've clinched that place. If we do, it'll be an honour for the club.
"We don't talk about the disciplinary angle with the players. You can't take the physicality out of the game. But we do talk about being responsible.
"Keeping 11 men on the pitch is very important, as is competing against a Villa side who need the points.
"I think Villa are defensively a little weak, and they have conceded goals in recent games. But Christian Benteke is in great form.
"We had 28 attempts on goal against Burnley last week and only scored one penalty. We need to be more clinical."
