BBC Sport's Brendon Mitchell at Ashton Gate: "The Bristol City fans are singing 'that's why we're champions', and it's hard to argue with them.

"This game had been finely poised until a devastating 10-minute blitz took the score from 2-2 to 6-2 in the Robins' favour. Exhibition stuff from Steve Cotterill's side."

Oh my, I just said someone needed to make themselves a hero and that man could be Colchester's George Moncur. George Porter holds the ball up in the box and knocks it back to Moncur who slots the ball home from 12 yards out.

MK DONS SECOND; CREWE, LEYTON ORIENT AND CRAWLEY DOWN AS IT STANDS.

Ten minutes left for someone to make themselves a hero. Preston are looking the most likely to score as Joe Garner's 20-yard strike forces Sam Walker to make a fine save low down to his right.

Former Bury and Burnley midfielder Jamie Hoyland on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "It's just not clicking up at the front for Preston. Nothing is falling right for Jermaine Beckford and Joe Garner.

"There's loads of time left, it's just so nervy. Preston have got to keep switched on at the other end as well and not give any hope to Colchester."

Josh Scowen has put Barnsley 1-0 ahead against Rochdale, while Peterborough are down to 10 men at Oldham as Jonathan Edwards is sent off.

Well you would not expect that from Joe Garner. He's just missed two glorious opportunities to put Preston ahead in less than a minute. First his header from Paul Gallagher's inch-perfect free-kick is deflected over. Then moments later he has an even better chance but nods wide from just a couple of yards out.

And the captain Dean Lewington seals his brace after scoring just once this season. The defender connects with Ben Reeves' cross to nod home the hosts' fifth goal.

MK DONS SECOND AS IT STANDS.

This relegation battle is twisting and turning all the way to the end. Coventry equalise through Marcus Tudgay, and that sends Crawley into the drop zone with 18 minutes to go.

CRAWLEY, LEYTON ORIENT AND COLCHESTER DOWN AS IT STANDS.

No wonder Karl Robinson is taking the acclaim of the MK Dons crowd. His side are 20 minutes away from a place in the Championship.

That's unless Preston can find a winner at Colchester, of course.

Chance for Colchester. Jacob Murphy breaks through on the left-hand side of the box, but then shoots from a narrow angle. Surely he would have been better to cross it in there?

Anton Rodgers nets a superb volley for Swindon, who are assured a play-off place, and it doesn't change too much for Leyton Orient. They still need other results to change if they are to stay up.

  14. Postpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 3 May 2015

A nervous few minutes for Notts County as they leave themselves exposed at the back and John Marquis misses from close range. The Magpies need a win to stay up, can they hold on?

Former Bury and Burnley midfielder Jamie Hoyland on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra, speaking about Colchester's missed penalty: "Simon Grayson was shaking his head in disgust at that challenge. I don't know what Sam Johnstone was doing. He flew out, stopped and then went in again.

"It was a shocking penalty though and that miss could be a game-changer. That's what pressure does to you. Preston have lost their safety net - they've got to get this game by the scruff, get on and get the goal."

BBC Sport's Ged Scott at Gresty Road: "Word has just reached Crewe of the goals at Crawley and Gillingham, and there is suddenly anguish on local faces. The Alex have had a couple of sniffs, but Steve Davis's side now need to dig a bit deeper."

  19. Postpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 3 May 2015

Coventry attacking at Crawley - a Crewe equaliser would send them down. Will that missed penalty in the first half come back to haunt the Sky Blues?
