Ryan Searle:, external Awful performance by Villa. We have a few good games and throw all of it away. Start a whole different 11 next week.

Viv:, external Tim likes to take credit for a player's form but he does not always seem to have a plan B when things go wrong.

Bill Colley:, external Sherwood shown for what he is, he got them motivated but hope they go down, he is an arrogant guy.

Southampton sign off their home campaign in style. They were excellent and Saido Mane has carved his name in the Premier League record books courtesy of a two minute, 56 second hat-trick.

Villa end their league travels with humiliation. Tim Sherwood will just be hoping they have got that out of their system ahead of the FA Cup final. And that his old club Tottenham do him a favour this afternoon.

Villa have a chance to end this miserable display on a tiny high but when Ashley Westwood is presented with the chance to slam home from inside the box he slices his shot well wide. Not much longer for Villa to suffer now. We are into injury time.

  6. A festival of awfulness awaits...published at 14:34 British Summer Time 16 May 2015

A humbling stat for Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle fans - you are the worst two sided in the league in 2015.

A monstrous 19 points between you - 10 for the Magpies, nine for Rangers.

If you were a racehorse, you'd probably be running backwards after one too many Christmas carrots.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: "It's a big game against a side who have had so good recent results themselves.

"The danger is people start assuming that results elsewhere are the key but it's still in our hands. We're looking to get our own results right.

"It's a case of making sure we concentrate on this game and work hard to try to win it. I've said if we can get to the last game of the season with our destiny in our own hands, that would be a good outcome given where we were.

"This gives us an opportunity to get there a little bit earlier, but we've got to work hard."

Villa need a comeback that would make Lazarus spit out his cornflakes in shock if they are to get anything out of the game at St Mary's. They need four goals to get a point and 10 minutes in which to do it. Maybe Sadio Mane could swap sides for the next two minutes and 56 seconds just to make it interesting?

Joey Barton will of course face his former club today, a club he was also relegated to the Championship with not less.

Barton has said "bad eggs" in the Queens Park Rangers dressing room have played a significant part in their relegation.

"What Joey probably alluded to is there are people who could have helped us who haven't helped us," said manager Chris Ramsey this week.

Did you know? They have allowed their opponents 202 shots at goal this season - the highest total in the Premier League.
