Boring Chelsea? The best of a bad bunch?

Call Chelsea what you like under Jose Mourinho, but the Portuguese keeps on showing he knows what it takes to win.

He is still well behind Sir Alex Ferguson's record of 13 Premier League titles, but you can imagine there is little space in his trophy cabinet.

The Chelsea boss has won the league in four different countries, lifted the European Cup with two clubs, won a Uefa Cup, an FA Cup and three League Cups, as well as securing an array of domestic cups in Portugal, Italy and Spain. Not bad eh?

  4. Release the brakespublished at 18:52 British Summer Time 18 May 2015

You can almost hear the screeching of the brakes...

History shows that nearly all teams fade away after securing the Premier League title early.

In fact, the Daily Telegraph calculates, external only three of the 11 teams to have won the Premier League with at least two games remaining successfully continued their form once the trophy was in the bag.

Can Mourinho's Blues buck the trend?

Ding ding. Welcome to the latest stop on Chelsea's Champions tour.

After securing the title with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the start of this month, they drew 1-1 at home to Liverpool in the first match as title winners.

Now they will be looking for their first win since being crowned - before receiving the trophy in their final match of the season at home to Sunderland on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear, he doesn't want the wheels to come off now.

  9. Time to partypublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 18 May 2015

A few would have expected a lot more nerves around The Hawthorns this evening not so long ago.

Many Baggies fans would have been expecting to still be fighting the drop - after a miserable start to the season.

While Chelsea fans can't have imagined the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United to be so far off the title pace.

It is party time in the Midlands...

Good evening and welcome to live text commentary of West Brom v Chelsea.

Yes, I know what you are saying. The Premier League champions against a team who has nothing to play for, doesn't exactly set the pulses racing does it?

You couldn't be more wrong. Jose Mourinho's team of all stars will be out to express themselves, while the Baggies have no need to employ any spoiling tactics.

    I'm going for a 5-4... Stay tuned.

Imagine the pre-match chat between the managers...

"So Tony, where are you heading on holiday this summer? I'm thinking of Dubai, then maybe a couple of weeks in the Caribbean."

"Sounds nice Jose. I'm going to look for a bit of sun myself. I've heard Cape Verde is nice at this time of year."

Yep, the beach towels are ready to come out. The pressure is off. The shackles have been released. This could be a cracker.
