    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

In fact, it is Arsenal who almost score as Kieran Gibbs is put through courtesy of a smart pass by Santi Cazorla, Thibaut Courtois is alert to it though and quick off his line to deny the shot.

Jose Mourinho is on the verge of tasting defeat at the hands of Arsene Wenger for the first time. Thirteen previous meetings, and no defeats. He looks angry about it too.

Time is fast running out, and Chelsea really don't look like scoring.

On Cazorla chance: "Brilliant all round. The hold-up play from Olivier Giroud, the run from Aaron Ramsey, his lovely pass into Santi Cazorla, and you cannot blame the Spaniard for missing one-on-one with Thibaut Courtois. The minute you take a touch Courtois is on you."

Now then, a bit of a fracas as Nemanja Matic is brought down. Mikel Arteta and Radamel Falcao exchange a few angry words before the ref calms things down.

Cesc Fabregas then floats the free-kick in for Branislav Ivanovic, who heads over from close range.

Should have been 2-0, no question.

Great work by Aaron Ramsey as he squares a pass across the area for the unmarked Santi Cazorla. He just has Thibaut Courtois to beat but dithers and Courtois blocks his shot. Ramsey then sends the follow up wide.

Chelsea may be league champions but, judging from the faces of some of the fans in the stands, you'd think this was the trophy they really wanted to win. Some very glum looks as time ticks away.

Kassim Sodiq: Please remind me how much Arsenal paid for Cech again? Already a bargain in his 1st match.

Rishabh Kapoor: Walcott needs to realise he is not a striker, He is a winger who scores. The earlier he understands this the better for Arsenal.

"I think Chelsea will go to three at the back now, with Willian and Victor Moses playing as wing-backs. We've not seen that before from Jose Mourinho. Maybe it's a new tactical option for the new season.

"Falcao's movement has been good since he came on, I'm liking the runs he's been making. He'll definitely benefit from having Cesc Fabregas in midfield, but Arsenal have been defending against him really well. Every time Falcao gets the ball Laurent Koscielny gets tight and two midfielders drop to surround him."

More changes as Mesut Ozil is replaced by Kieran Gibbs for Arsenal while for Chelsea, John Terry goes off and Victor Moses come on.

Moses, who has spent the last couple of years out on loan, scored against PSG in pre-season and has generally impressed. Could he be more involved this season?

Arsenal, though, look capable on the counter and Thibaut Courtois has to be alert to hold Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's deflected shot.

That's the goalscorer's last action of the game as he is replaced by Mikel Arteta, making his first appearance since November last year.

"Chelsea have got better and better as the half has gone on. Jose Mourinho's made some good changes and Arsenal do seem to be tiring.

"Kurt Zouma, I am not exaggerating but he has the highest leap of any footballer I have ever seen. He is a real threat at set pieces."

Chelsea are bossing possession in this half with just over 15 minutes left. Can Arsenal keep them at bay?

Another Chelsea attack sees John Terry superbly keep a ball in play, nodding it back to Kurt Zouma but the defender's arcing header is held by Petr Cech.
