Howls of 'off, off, off' from the Palace fans as Francis Coquelin sends Wilfried Zaha sprawling. The Arsenal midfielder was booked a few minutes ago and that could easily have been a second caution. He gets away with that big time.

The corner from the right comes to nothing. Francis Coquelin though picks up the ball fifty yards out and sprays a delicious cross-field pass to Aaron Ramsey. His touch inside the penalty area lets him down and the chance is gone.

Matthew Penistone:  Have to say again a lack of closing down has cost us. No blame on Cech there just too few players putting bodies on the line.

Derek Pillie:  Did Koscielny move out of the way of Ward's strike? Watched it back a few times & looks like he should have stopped it.

Take a bow Alex McCarthy.Arsenal break with pace once again and, again, Mesut Ozil is at the centre of it.

His low cross from the left is flicked goalwards by Aaron Ramsey but the Palace goalkeeper brilliantly flings himself to his left to parry the ball away.

Arsenal attempt to get control back as they pass the ball round patiently in midfield. Santi Cazorla spots a hole in Palace's midfield and drives through it. After a bad pass and a spot of pin ball, it ends up back at Cazorla's feet but he shoots horribly over the bar from the edge of the area.

Tom Mason:  Sick of the unjust Giroud criticism -people would bash Shearer if he still played for not doing 20 stepovers before shooting

Alistair Wiseman:  very Van Bastenesque from Giroud there. People forget last season he broke his leg. Who needs Benzema?
