Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew, speaking to Sky Sports: "We’re in good shape. We’ve got some great players on the pitch and great players off the bench today, we are much stronger than we were last year.

"Yannick Bolaise wasn’t quite right for the first game but now he is up to speed. He gives us something different and Connor Wickham starts because I thought he might trouble those two centre-halves. He’s done terrific in training.

"Arsenal’s defeat to West Han is definitely not going to work in our favour – there is going to be a renewed spirit among them to put that right. I’d fancy they’ll be a bit more aggressive but we gave them one hell of a game here last year and I thought they were lucky to win. They will have to be at their very best today."

Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam:  "We as a club would probably rather play the big teams early because they are not in their stride yet. It gives you a better opportunity of getting a result."

We are approaching half an hour to kick-off at Selhurst Park as the players go through their limbering up routines on the pitch.

As the fans slowly start filtering into their seats there is a real sense of anticipation about this place.

With Yohan Cabaye and Connor Wickham set to make their home debuts, plus the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha on the flanks, there is a lot to be excited about.

Ex-player Danny Mills on MOTD2 Extra: "The pressure is on Arsenal. A point for Palace will be a great result. I'm a little bit concerned for Arsenal. You look at Palace - the likes of Yannick Bolasie can trouble defender Laurent Koscielny. 

"It's only Theo Walcott that can come on and change Arsenal as an attacking force."

Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam on facing Arsenal:  "The thing you have to watch with Arsenal is their speed and the way they move the ball, the pace they have. 

"Alexis Sanchez is a big presence back for them but it will take him time to get back into the pace of the game. He has only trained for 10 days. Is he fit?

"For Arsenal, the pace and movement is key. You need to match your runs against them but at home? I think I fancy Palace to get something."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, speaking to Sky Sports: "Alexis Sanchez will have an impact. He is a player who can make good decisions and has a great fighting spirit - away from home that is even more important.

"To start matches yes he is ready but to last 90 minutes is another question. You play him as long as you can.

"Crystal Palace are one of the strong teams in the league I believe. They have a good defence and have potential in attack. We expect them to be very combative, and the pitch here is always a very committed pitch. 

"You have to prepare for the fight but you also mustn't forget to play."

Ex-player Danny Mills: "Joe Hart and Sergio Aguero are the only big players who have performed. Aguero is key and is injury prone. Can Wilfried Bony come in and be that player? 

"If Aguero goes missing then City might struggle. I've tipped them to finish fourth."

"The players will be sat there knowing the pressure is on Manchester City."

Jose Mourinho has been at the centre of controversy this week after clashing with his medical staff.

Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam, speaking on MOTD2 Extra: "I think it is frustration. The player gets asked from the referee if he needs attention and he has obviously said yes. Jose is frustrated from drawing the game and losing the man means you go on to have a chance of losing the game.

"It is a big game today to set a marker against probably one of the title contenders as well and if they go there, knowing the way Jose Mourinho works, they will probably nick a win."

Ex-player Danny Mills on Chelsea's squad: "You look at the net spend. Newcastle have spent more than anyone else. The big teams might buy big but they spend big. 

"Ideally they want Everton defender John Stones in. Maybe Chelsea need another creative midfielder or forward. It looks like current midfielder Juan Cuadrado is out of the picture."

There are home debuts for Yohan Cabaye and Connor Wickham, who replaces Glenn Murray up front, while Yannick Bolasie comes in for midfielder Jordan Mutch. On-loan Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford could come off the bench for a first Palace appearance.
