  1. Palace fans are optimisticpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 16 August 2015

Crystal Palace v Arsenal (13:30 BST)

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parrish on MOTD2 Extra:  "I think in the 90s it was positive - in the times of Wright and Bright. But this is the first time since then people have felt optimistic. We are a work in progress. We are not the finished article. You have to try to set new standards and achieve new things. As you're bringing new players in you have to get everything else around them right.

"The club has been underinvested for many years. It was a great statement getting in Yohan Cabaye. But you don't win games in the transfer window, you win them on the pitch. I think we'll do some business before the transfer window. We expect one or two to go and one or two to come in."

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam on MOTD2 Extra: "To go to Tottenham and get a point, we are happy with that.

"The lads spoke about in the dressing room before, our bench compared to Tottenham's bench was a big difference. They didn't have a striker on the bench which was a big thing for them.

"We have started OK, hopefully we can kick on and get a win."

Former England international Danny Mills:  "The middle group of teams you don’t expect in a relegation fight nor make the Champions League – they need the bigger squads.

"The likes of Stoke, Southampton and Tottenham need the bigger squads. A lot of clubs are struggling for top-class strikers."

Who is your club's unsung hero?

Jack, Durham via text: I'd nominate myself for the hero of our uni league team for acting like Diego Costa, winding up the opposition then paying up the £10 yellow card fined week after week

KB via text: My unsung hero is the security guard who is between the dugouts at all Chelsea home Games. I'm 27 and can't remember a time not seeing him there.

So who is your club's unsung hero and why?

    • Is it someone like Jack?
    • The kit person?
    • The tea person?

It could be anybody from Premier League to Sunday league level - photos welcome too.

Talking about Arsene Wenger, a few people are predicting this could be the Gunners' season - as seen in this BBC pundits feature.

They haven't made a great start though, losing to West Ham at home on the opening day, and things don't get any easier with a trip to Crystal Palace.

Palace themselves could have eyes on a surprise European spot this campaign.

The fans are already turning out at Selhurst Park...

So, what has Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho been up to now then?

Talking about City boss Manuel Pellegrini signing a new contract, he somehow managed to turn that into a chance to have a pop at Arsene Wenger.

When asked if he was surprised by the deal, Mourinho said: "Why? Some other clubs, they have disappointed for 15 years and the manager is the same."

    Ouch.

  15. Martinez calls for unitypublished at 11:22

As mentioned earlier, Everton manager Roberto Martinez says the club needs unity after fans staged a fly-past protest against chairman Bill Kenwright and the Toffees board.

A plane carrying a banner reading: 'Kenwright & Co #time to go NSNO,' flew over St Mary's Stadium during Everton's 3-0 win at Southampton on Saturday.

The Blues secured their first victory at St Mary's in over a decade against a lacklustre Southampton on Saturday though as two goals from Romelu Lukaku caused the damage.
