Sean smirking in Manchester:  Yaya will win us the title again this season. And Robbie Savage saying he had to go last year..

Matt, Huntingdon:  'Sterling, Silva' - I have a feeling commentators and pundits alike will be saying those words about City a lot this season!

  6. Pass masterspublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 10 August 2015

Manchester City have already completed more passes tonight (417) than all but three Premier League teams completed overall in their games this weekend.

The last team to complete more passes in the first half of a Premier League game were Swansea (461) v Crystal Palace in March 2014.

He's still young though. It feels like he's been round forever but at the age of 20, a lot of players aren't even playing first-team football yet.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 10 August 2015

Manchester City go in at the break 2-0 up - they've been totally dominant. It was almost like a pre-season friendly against some village side at times.

West Brom debutant James McClean, who is almost the definition of a winger, gets the ball into the box but Vincent Kompany gets the ball back to keeper Joe Hart, who smothers the ball gratefully.

Raheem Sterling should have scored. He made a great run and showed so much pace. But he had so much of the goal to hit and for £49m he should have scored that. I don't think he is a natural finisher.

Manchester City's David Silva, who has been brilliant in the first half, plays a brilliant ball through to marauding left-back Aleksandar Kolarov but Saido Berahino of all people tracks the run and deflects the shot out for a corner.

Moments after Raheem Sterling should have made it 3-0, Saido Berahino has the ball in the back of the net but it's rightly called back for offside. Game has moved up in tempo now.

Just as Robbie Savage says that, Raheem Sterling should make it 3-0 - he's played in on goal and only has Boaz Myhill to beat but his weak shot is saved down low by the keeper.

Raheem Sterling has done OK so far. I would say there are better players on the pitch like David Silva and Yaya Toure. Silva is orchestrating the play and Sterling is keeping his width on the left hand side.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 40 mins

West Brom midfielder Darren Fletcher is booked for bringing down David Silva in midfield. Might be a long 50 minutes for him having to watch his step around Silva, Raheem Sterling and Yaya Toure now.

I take my comment about Rickie Lambert's long-range free-kick prowess back. Southampton fans on Twitter are informing me he's done it before.

Poor old Joe Hart. The Manchester City number one has had pretty much the whole half to himself so far, with the players camped in the West Brom half so far.

This graphic shows the players' average positions (West Brom white, Man City grey).

West Brom having a little spell on the ball now. A ball is pumped into the box by Joleon Lescott but Rickie Lambert barges over his defender trying to get his head onto it. Free-kick to City and West Brom's period of possession is over.
