It may have escaped your attention but Dejan Lovren was named on the shortlist for Premier League player of the month earlier today. Yes, you did read that correctly.

Much maligned since his £20m move from Southampton in 2014, Lovren is getting a run in the side and it would seem he's impressing.

Others on the shortlist? Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku, Troy Deeney, Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane.

Solid, if unspectacular, so far tonight.

With a game against Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday, Tottenham are set to rest a couple of players for tonight's game against Monaco, with Harry Kane expected to be one of them.

Monaco must win and hope Anderlecht fail to beat Qarabag to qualify, but Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is not planning to make it too easy for the French side.

"There may be one or two more changes but not much," he said. "It is a good opportunity to finish first and win the group."

Team news should be up shortly...

Liverpool are one of only six teams unbeaten in the Europa League group stages this season – the others being Napoli, Lazio, Besiktas and the Group K pair of Schalke and Sparta Prague.

Neither side looks like scoring in this game, so Liverpool are looking a good bet for ending the group stage unbeaten.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:49

    Fenerbahce 1-0 Celtic

Fenerbahce are on course to join Molde in the knockout stage of the Europa League as a howler from Craig Gordon - who had earlier produced two outstanding saves - gifts the hosts the lead.

    Liverpool

Pressing and possession are important parts of gegenpressing. Liverpool have certainly got the possession part nailed, not so much the pressing. Into one minute of stoppage time and this half is surely going to end goalless.

  8. Chelsea's Chalobah scores for Napolipublished at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2015

One of Chelsea's 33 players on-loan around Europe has scored in the Europa League tonight.

England under-21 midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has opened his account for Napoli against Legia Warsaw.

It is currently 2-0 in that game.

    GOAL - Fenerbahce 1-0 Celticpublished at 18:42

    Lazar Markovic

One for the goalkeeper bloopers reel as a Craig Gordon howler gifts Fenerbahce the lead.

He races out to try and beat Lazar Markovic, on loan at Fenerbahce from Liverpool, to a ball but lets it run through his legs and Markovic gleefully runs past him and sidefoots home from a tight angle.

Three - YES THREE - Celtic players make sliding attempts to clear the ball. All miss.

How can Klopp make Sturridge more resilient?

This may make Daniel Sturridge more resilient...but maybe a little less mobile...

There's a few goals to tell you about elsewhere in the competition - Molde have equalised against Ajax which further lessens the Dutch side's chances of going through.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:38

    FC Sion 0-0 Liverpool

Very casual pace to this game, with both sides looking pretty content with a draw. That result would be enough to see Liverpool take first place, and Sion second.

The pressure has just gone up a notch on Sion, though, as Rubin Kazan have taken the lead against Bordeaux. If Sion lose, Rubin will pip them to second.

They've upped the tempo a tad now and Ebenezer Assifuah gets the game's first yellow as he lunges in on Emre Can in an effort to snatch possession.

  13. Real's appeal rejectedpublished at 18:32
    Breaking

Some news to bring you from Spain, where Real Madrid's appeal against their expulsion from the Copa del Rey, for fielding an ineligible player, has been rejected by the Spanish soccer federation.

Real included Denis Cheryshev in their starting line-up for last week's last 32, first leg game at third-tier Cadiz even though he should have been serving a one-match suspension. The Russia forward opened the scoring in a 3-1 victory.

    FC Sion 0-0 Liverpool

Chance for Liverpool! Divock Origi bundles his way through two defenders and into the area, he's through on goal but the ball runs away from him a little bit, just enough for an FC Sion defender to get back and get the tackle in as Origi was about to pull the trigger.

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Celtic

Celtic win a couple of corners in quick succession but can't do anything with them. Better from the visitors, though, after coping with some early Fenerbahce pressure.

    FC Sion 0-0 Liverpool

Chance for FC Sion as Edimilson Fernandes gets away from Kolo Toure midway inside the Liverpool half and by the time the Reds defender has turned around, Fernandes is already on the edge of the area. The hard pitch causes the ball to bounce a bit awkwardly and he scuffs his shot wide.

  18. Elsewhere in the Europa Leaguepublished at 18:21 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2015

There has been a big goal in Group A, where Ajax have taken the lead against Molde through Donny van de Beek. The Dutch giants can still qualify provided Fenerbahce lose against Celtic. It's 0-0 in that one.

Decent effort from Divock Origi, opening up a bit of space for himself 25 yards from goal and letting fly with a rasping drive. Just wide.

    FC Sion 0-0 Liverpool

FC Sion, second in Group B and three points ahead of Rubin Kazan, just need a point to be certain of joining Liverpool in progressing and they are clearly in no rush, one player ambling over to take a thrown in.

They have their first chance on goal soon after as Carlitos turns just outside the area, but lashes well over.
