  4. Manager reaction - 'No easy games'published at 22:05

    England 2-0 Estonia

England manager Roy Hodgson, speaking to ITV: "Ross Barkley has been important to this group for a long time, he’s been maturing in his performances for Everton and for England and it was great for him to go out and play as well as he did in an important qualifier match. He deserves a lot of credit.

"If you look through the other results tonight you can see how hard it can be. A lot of games are won by the odd goal, and quite often the big teams have to work hard to get their 1-0 victory. There are literally no easy games at international level. You have to be patient and keep working away, and I was pleased with our patience and persistence."

Great shout Matt. To recap, James Milner, Michael Carrick, Gary Cahill, Wayne Rooney and Joe Hart are not involved.

England manager Roy Hodgson, speaking to ITV: "It was as tough as we thought it would be. Estonia were well organised and they’re a team that is intelligent in the way they play.

"We had to work hard, we attacked a lot, we had a lot of the ball had a lot of chances. I thought we were good value for our 2-0 win.

"You have to come through these kind of games, if you are not careful you can slip up, and I’m glad we didn’t

"Harry Kane did some fantastic work at centre forward setting things up and Jamie Vardy was only on the pitch a few minutes before he’d set up a goal.

"If its true what people are telling me, and if this victory ensures we are seeded for the draw for the final tournament then that is important too, I’m only hoping I've not been misled, because these rankings fluctuate."

Richard Ridley: If England aren't very good what does that say about the rest of the group? The qualifying is not exciting at all but job done.

Robert Thompson: This 'average' England team qualified with 100% record (so far). Lampard, Gerrard, A. Cole, Terry, Owen etc, didn't in 2008

Sean Brown: Lovely stadium, lovely food, lovely toilets and a nice, lovely clap to lovely polite fans as Walcott jogs off and everything's... you guessed it, lovely. Then we turn up at a tournament, in a hostile environment, and everything's not quite as nice, and we get well and truly beaten. It's all a little too nice and a little too perfect at Wembley.
