Full marks to Theo Walcott for effort. He commissions and then follows up a fine move down the England right, playing one-twos with Nathaniel Clyne and then Harry Kane before teeing up Raheem Sterling on the left of the area. Sterling goes for a pre-meditated curler but hasn't got the quality to steer it in. Better.

Not a good few days for Manchester City. They must be hoping Kevin de Bruyne gets through Belgium's trip to Andorra unscathed.

Raheem Sterling, the fourth member of City's big four, skips past his man easily but then can't pick out a team-mate. Some fans still coming in at Wembley.

Manchester City have already suffered one injury blow this week when striker Sergio Aguero was carried off with a hamstring injury playing for Argentina against Ecuador.

And now midfielder David Silva has hobbled off playing for Spain against Luxembourg in tonight's Euro 2016 qualifier.

It has been reported that Silva was on the wrong end of a poor challenge by midfielder Lars Krogh Gerson. 

Alex Barton: No idea how Roy Hodgson does it, but he destroys Ross Barkley’s confidence. Looks a shadow for England. Nothing to do with opposition.

SJ Mcnab: England playing like a Volkswagen in emission test mode, no desire to show underlying power and performance.

Another half chance for Ross Barkley as he latches on to a poor punch from Estonia keeper Mihkel Aksalu but can only shoot back at him from 18 yards. 

England giving the ball away? A theme of the last 30-35 years that cannot be stopped it seems.

Ross Barkley then breaks through the middle though, lovely pass into him but he can't get his shot away under heavy pressure from Taijo Teniste.

"It's been a very high tempo start from both sides. I've been watching Ross Barkley and a couple of times already he's given the ball away under no pressure. 

"For me he still has to learn when to play the ball simple."

"Estonia really are grafting. I don't know how long they can keep it up but as soon as they get the ball they're looking to break and are throwing four or five bodies forward, every time.

"It suits England though this, because they always seem to play better in a Premier League-style game, with a high tempo."

Ross Barkley lifts the ball into the area, Raheem Sterling and Adam Lallana both latch onto it and there's a lack of communication and Sterling eventually tackles his former Liverpool team-mate.

Apparently the Estonia fans sold out their ticket allocation 18 months ago! Great effort and I can only apologise that it may not be a classic game. Mind you, if they see a win they won't care. Dancing on the streets of Tallinn.

"It's been a bright start. England are trying to play a high tempo and Estonia don't look like they've come here to sit back. They need a result remember.

"Plenty of empty seats still inside Wembley - but a slightly difficult sell for the FA given England have already qualified and, with respect, Estonia are not from the top bracket of opponents. Usually ends up with a good Wembley turn-out though."

Estonia have never scored against England and they don't seem keen in keeping the ball in the early stages - it's just whacked clear every time the ball comes near a blue shirt in these opening moments.

Which musical genre or artist best describes Roy Hodgson's England side?  

Gareth Vaughan: England are like the Rolling Stones - still a big deal when they roll into town but no denying they hit their peak in the sixties.
