Which musical genre or artist best describes Roy Hodgson's England side?

Joe, Leeds: For me England are a lot like the Spice Girls. Everyone loved them in 1996 but it's been a long 19 years and a few fleeting comeback attempts have not got anywhere near those heights.

Wayne Rooney is not involved tonight but this is a massive honour for him as he is presented with a golden boot to mark his 50th goal by Sir Bobby Charlton.

Wembley stands to applaud as the two men - with 99 England goals between them - shake hands and pose for pictures.

England manager Roy Hodgson: [What are you hoping to learn from the playesr who have come in?] "We know a lot about them already, it is an opportunity for them. Ross Barkley, Adam Lallana, Ryan Bertrand and Harry Kane of course - it's a chance for them to show what they can do.

"We believe in them and we hope it's a team who can give us a win we need. I expect Theo Walcott to do what he does for the Arsenal."

"England simply don't have the technical players to compete with teams like Spain and Germany, but what they are good at is hustling, and catching sides on the break.

"Set pieces are a big factor too. That's something they have to keep working on and delivering, because it's always been a big part of English football and we've got to continue with that."

Which musical genre or artist best describes Roy Hodgson's England side?

Gary Baverstock:Middle of the road, Bryan Adams.

Ed Goodenough: I'd say England are more like Cliff Richard. Living off past glory, but still a national treasure.

David Forrest: Coldplay, does the job if you're looking for a solid performance but only rarely have inspired moments that excite people.

    Danny Mills
BBC Radio 5 live at Wembley

"The best performance I ever saw from Roy Hodgson's England team was Switzerland away, at the beginning of the qualifying campaign. They fought hard, and there was a high tempo.

"For me, England are not good enough to play slow, slow football. It's all about how they deal with being in France next summer, and Roy Hodgson has got to start putting together his system now, so the players are used to it.

"I'll be interested to see how Hodgson's formation works out. It's a very attacking line-up. James Milner is in the midfield and you assume he'll be the one to sit and be more defensive today."

Russia, who play Moldova, can qualify tonight if they better Sweden's result against Liechtenstein.

Sweden and Montenegro, who play Austria, can both still qualify automatically, but only if Russia slip up in their final games.

I fully agree Dan. Jack Butland has been in brilliant form for Stoke this season and I thought he'd be nailed on to play tonight. Roy doesn't seem keen on giving any new players or systems a try, even with qualification in the bag.

Dan, Andover: A game that means nothing and still Butland doesn't get a game? What is the point? Hart is going to become all-time caps record-holder and plays in games when he is just going to be a bystander. How is anyone else ever going to get experience?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and company are up against Liechtenstein tonight. They need to win and hope Russia slip up against Moldova to move into the automatic qualifying spots.

Can Zlatan add to his tally of 57 international goals?
