Is Raheem Sterling actually any good? A question raised across the BBC Sport office as the £49m man gives the ball away time and again after beating the first man. His end product has been very poor tonight.

"England have had a few decent chances since the break but again that final ball hasn't been sharp enough.

"Sometimes in this situation - you're 1-0 up and you've already qualified - it's difficult to raise your game and push yourself to the limit, whether you're playing for England or not."

England utterly dominant again in the second half but are they any nearer to a second goal? They are still not looking too threatening.

"Ross Barkley surged up to the Estonia box with a 60-yard run and you wanted him to just pull the trigger. In the end he was looking for the penalty and didn't get it.

"Minutes later he does the right thing - he takes a risk on the shot. He's got a lot to do to catch Paul Gascoigne up but that's what he was good at."

  6. CLOSE!published at 52 mins

Ross Barkley gets the ball in his own half and has one thing on his mind - to the area! He sprints away from two tracking men, wonderful stuff, but then he chooses to carry on when a pass was on and he is tackled fairly inside the box. Poor decision.

Moments later Barkley beats another two men and shoots wide from 20 yards. He is a frustrating - but very exciting - player...

England catch Estonia napping with a quick free-kick, the ball is rolled to Adam Lallana on the edge of his box and his drive is well saved by a flying Mihkel Aksalu. The ball pops out toward Harry Kane, it's asking for a first-time sweep into the net but he takes a touch and is closed down.

"No changes at half-time then but I think we might well see some soon enough. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jonjo Shelvey could come on and maybe Dele Alli could if England can get two or three goals up? I know Roy Hodgson won't want to risk his 100% record.

"Can England reproduce the kind of play that saw then finally take the lead towards the end of that first half?"

Not seen much of Harry Kane tonight but he has a chance now, turning to meet a decent Nathaniel Clyne cross but he mistimes a volley and shanks it high up in the air off his ankle.

Raheem Sterling then skins his man easily but screws a shot wide.

Ayoade Oluwasanmi: So after 10 years of potential, Theo Walcott starting to show signs of being consistent. Definitely not "world class" though.

Dr Spits: Theo Walcott is the original and authentic next Thiery Henry.

Nicholas Richards: If we bring on Townsend and Vardy, I think we will destroy them.

"You have to be patient with players who have got technical ability like Ross Barkley. He will take risks and be in and out of games because he is constantly trying to create, to make something from nothing.

"That was a quality ball for Theo Walcott's goal but a lot of the time in the first half he was frustrating. People tend to forget that he is still a young player, too, and you just hope that with age comes consistency."

Luke: A player who wants to play up front has what? 13 goals in his last 16 starts? Erm... tell me why he shouldn't play up front again?

Scotty: Walcott really upping his game. Good to see.

The Sweeper Keeper: Lovely goal that was. Barkley's very frustrating at times but clearly very talented.
