  1. 'Time for Barkley & Kane to shine'published at 19:01 British Summer Time 9 October 2015

    England v Estonia (19:45 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

"England are safely at Euro 2016 but there is still plenty for manager Roy Hodgson to look at after eight wins out of eight, starting against Estonia at Wembley tonight.

"With Wayne Rooney injured, Spurs striker Harry Kane steps into the breach to press his claims for France next summer - building on his three England goals, including one in each of the last two qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland.

"Everton's Ross Barkley also gets the chance to impress and there will be pre-kick-off ceremonials as Rooney receives a Golden Boot from Sir Bobby Charlton after breaking his England goascoring record with his 50th for his country from the penalty spot against Switzerland."

    Heavy-metal football?

Good old Jurgen Klopp has certainly got us in the football media excited this week with his arrival at Anfield promising a respite to boring news conferences - for now at least.

He once memorably described his side's style of play as 'heavy-metal football' - but which musical genre or artist best describes Roy Hodgson's England side?

    My suggestion is Ed Sheeran.

They both regularly - and surprisingly - sell out Wembley. They are not particularly offensive, both successful - sure (to a point), but I always feel like there must be something better to watch when they are on the stage...

  3. The picture in Group Cpublished at 18:56

Here's how the qualifying scenario plays out in Group C.

Spain can qualify with a win at home to Luxembourg tonight.

Slovakia can also qualify tonight if they beat Belarus at home - because they have a better head-to-head record with Ukraine

Ukraine, who play Macedonia, can still qualify automatically, but only if Spain and/or Slovakia slip up in their final matches.

Third in the group guarantees a spot in the play-offs, remember. And of all nine third-placed teams across the groups, the one with the most points gets an automatic qualifying spot too.

  6. Bale fit to start for Walespublished at 18:49

Some news from the Wales camp, where manager Chris Coleman has been speaking to the media 24 hours before their game in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Wales know one point from their final two matches will send them to Euro 2016 - and they have been boosted by the news that Gareth Bale will start tomorrow.

“We do not take chances with players," said Coleman. "If he was a doubt then we wouldn’t start him. We know there is a lot at stake but we would not risk him.

“I am not sure he is fit enough for 90 minutes but we will monitor how it goes. We have two games in four days which is tough so he is unlikely to play 90 in both.”

  7. Missing you...published at 18:46

    England v Estonia (19:45 BST)

Tonight is the first England game Wayne Rooney has not started since the 0-0 World Cup draw with Costa Rica last summer - a game which saw him enter as a substitute.

The last game Rooney missed altogether was Ukraine 0-0 England in September 2013. So two goalless draws then...

  8. No Rooneypublished at 18:44

    England v Estonia (19:45 BST)

Wayne Rooney, England's record goalscorer, will not be involved in England's remaining two qualifiers after injuring an ankle in Manchester United's defeat at Arsenal.

But he will remain with the squad for tonight's game, before which he will receive a commemorative golden boot from Sir Bobby Charlton, whose record he beat when he scored his 50th international goal in the victory over Switzerland last month.

A huge moment for the captain. And here is his latest gong...

  11. Experimental England?published at 18:35

    England v Estonia (19:45 BST)

With England already through, hotel and training camp sorted, captain missing through injury, tonight is the perfect night for Roy Hodgson to try something new. A new system perhaps, blood some youngsters, give Jack Butland a run in goal, try Theo Walcott as a central striker. Oh - what's that Roy?
