Your substitute stories
You're standing on the sidelines, waiting to come on, imaging that moment of glory and then these things happen....
Joe Wardle: I once had a stinker on the left wing, got yanked off and in true Sunday league fashion was made linesman. Made a terrible call five minutes in and someone else took my place.
Ken Gorry: Came on, tried to block a clearance, got hit with the ball full on in the face. My noise started bleeding so ref made me go off for treatment. It didn't stop bleeding until the game was over.. That was my debut..
Ben Puzzar: Got sent off after 9 mins after watching the guy playing in my position getting bullied by their right winger. Needless to say, two late tackles later and both of us were sharing a pint in the clubhouse!

Steve Wilson
BBC Match of the Day commentator at Selhurst Park
"Nobody at Crystal Palace should be under any illusions about the thanks they owe Tony Pulis. From rock bottom to mid-table, in the twinkling of an eye the Welshman ensured that the foundations of success were laid.
"What Alan Pardew has achieved in an equally short space of time is perhaps even more impressive.
"Palace have every right to think that they can qualify for Europe with what must be their finest team in more than two decades."
Right, time to turn our attention to today's fixtures. First up, a look at an intriguing early kick-off...

Were you an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or an Ali Dia?
We want to hear your substitute stories this Saturday morning and here are some early contenders.
Stephen Collins: My first under-16 game was as a last minute sub. Excitedly warmed up, high fived my teammate, sprinted on...and the final whistle blew.
Mark: I got subbed off once because one of our better players turned up still drunk. By half term he felt better so off I came.
Dan Wellington: Once came on after 85 minutes. Won a penalty, scored the penalty and got sent off for taunting the opposition but won 1-0.

Mourinho isn't the only manager beginning to show the strain - Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has also been in decidedly tetchy mood.
The Times leads on the Frenchman's fit of pique in yesterday's news conference, when he batted away questions about which of David Ospina or Petr Cech would play in goal against Manchester United on Sunday with more than a hint of irritation.

The Telegraph leads this morning on the latest instalment in a miserable week at Stamford Bridge.
After a ropey Champions League defeat and the admission from Jose Mourinho that he was experiencing his worst spell in management, the case of former team doctor Eva Carneiro has cast another shadow over the club.
The FA cleared Mourinho of making discriminatory comments towards Carneiro, but she has fired back, saying the governing body had never asked her to testify. The FA say they did. Hmmm...

Let's have a look at today's back pages, shall we?
Rumblings of a managerial change in today's Mirror, which claims that Ajax manager Frank De Boer has demanded to be given the top job at Liverpool if/when the carpet is yanked from under Brendan Rodgers.
Now now, Frank. You know that's not how you get your way. You've got to ask nicely, remember. The magic word never goes amiss.

Some early contenders for substitute stories from the office.
A colleague has volunteered the story of time of he was subbed on to the opposition team to even the numbers when they turned up a player short. Ended up getting kicked from pillar to post by his own team-mates. Wincing at the mere memory of it.
I was once subbed off with 15 minutes remaining, with my team trailing 3-0. I watched from the sidelines with a mixture of joy and despair as that became a 4-3 win, with my replacement scoring two and laying on another. In its own way, just as painful.
