Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon: "The players are more aware of what it means to both sets of supoprters, the build up to a game like this will last two or three weeks. Brendan Rodgers' future adds more spice to the game.
"The form book goes out of the window in derby matches, there is not much between the two teams. Both teams will want to impose themselves from the start."

"Big absentees in Everton's defence with John Stones and Seamus Coleman still out injured - it leaves Brendan Galloway and Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori making their first derby appearance, while the other youngster Tylas Browning figured as a substitute at Anfield last season.
"With Leighton Baines also out, it is an unfamiliar defence. Could this be the chink of light Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and his team are looking for?"

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to Sky Sports: "We go into the game with confidence. It will be a tense game but they always are.
"In my time, we have made too many mistakes defensively but going forward we have been creative and dynamic. If we can cut out the mistakes and score goals that will bode well for us.
"The club has always had outstanding local players. Of course, you want that local boy but the players who are playing today will be very committed."

Arsenal v Man Utd (16:00 BST)
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger calls the press "boring" after getting involved in a spat with a journalist about team selection.
The Frenchman was criticised for not playing goalkeeper Petr Cech - a summer signing - in Tuesday's Champions League defeat by Olympiakos at Emirates Stadium, after a mistake by his replacement David Ospina cost a goal.
Wenger says the media "lack a bit of creativity", accusing the press of "following a bandwagon that is very, very boring".

BBC pundit Alan Shearer: "Fram a forward's point of view, you have to go with Theo Walcott to start for Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez seems to have found his form so I would go with both of them.
"I don't think Manchester United are anywhere near how good they can be and that must be worrying for other teams."
Former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert: "When you have got someone with speed up there it is a danger and Walcott has got that. Olivier Giroud is more physical but Arsenal don't really play a long ball game."
Journalist Henry Winter: "It is one of the historic fixtures, there have been scraps and falling outs - if any of the players aren't excited by the game they shouldn't be in the game. I assume keeper Petr Cech will start because if he doesn't there will be meltdown. It's a bigger game for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
"Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal drills defences and, even though it may look boring from the outside, they are developing."
Is Sergio Aguero the only Premier League player who would get into the three best teams in Europe as Paul Lambert suggests? There's a talking point...
Man City 6-1 Newcastle

Alan Shearer: "Sergio Aguero is world class, after a slow start to the season he more than made up for it. As a forward you get that feeling that today could be my day."
Paul Lambert: "He is the one player that could get into the Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Real Madrid team, you can't say that about many players these days."
Henry Winter: "Aguero is incredibly low maintenance, you never hear negative stories about him off the pitch, all the staff at City say he is polite, he trains hard. He is the biggest superstar in the country in terms of his talent."
