    Watford 2-0 West Ham

"What happens weeks before and all the statistics is interesting but it doesn't mean a thing once the referee blows his whistle.

"From the start we were basically second best. They were better in every football department and totally deserved to beat us.

"We didn't have energy. They were quicker, more hungry than us. Today it was just that."

    Watford 2-0 West Ham

"I'm really pleased, very happy with the result and the performance.

"I think we enjoyed the game a lot. The players played with real confidence on the ball, with high pressure, it was an amazing performance.

"It's been important to change the mentality when you come in from a lower division, to win gives you the respect of the other teams."

  5. 'Best since Shearer and Lineker'?published at 18:24

    #bbcfootball

He scored for the eighth game in a row this afternoon, but the verdict's still out on Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy's England credentials...

Dan: For some reason England can't see that he is best either as a central striker with a free role or strike partner. Hodgson insists on playing him out wide. If Hodgson would swallow his pride and pick players on form, we could have the best tournament striker since Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker.

Billy: With regards to John Murray's comments on Vardy, it would help if he was played in his preferred position.

Emerald: Vardy is to England what Messi is to Argentina.... Good for club different for country.

    Newcastle 0-0 Stoke

"We were a bit frustrated in the first half. We had plenty of possession around their area but didn't look like we wanted to shoot.

"Their keeper has made a great save from Jon Walters.

"As the away team you are going to give away a couple of chances and when we did Jack Butland saved.

"He is doing exceptionally well. Jack is a very mature individual and I think that helps him."

    Newcastle 0-0 Stoke

"Four great saves from Jack Butland denied us a win and got Stoke a point.

"He was unbelievable and the difference between us and three points."

He added: "We are building, growing and progressing - the last five games - we are getting there.

"There were lost of positives and the only disappointment is not getting the three points."

    League Two round-up

Plymouth secured a fourth successive home win as they beat Morecambe 2-0 to stay clear at the top of the table.

Oxford moved up to second with a 5-1 win at Stevenage, who had Michael Tonge and Jamie McCombe sent off.

Portsmouth slipped to third after surrendering a lead at Notts County to lose 2-1.

Accrington Stanley are up to fourth place after Josh Windass' eighth goal of the season gave them a 1-0 win at Leyton Orient.

Bottom club Yeovil faced a long trip back home after letting slip a two-goal lead at Carlisle to lose 3-2.

  9. Player reactionpublished at 18:17

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester United

"It's another clean sheet and another game without losing but we want to win the title and we can't have the other teams in front go away.

"When you look at the players we have it's not a worry (not scoring). We have seen them in training and we know they have the quality.

"But it's not just the strikers, it's everyone in the team.

"We have to get through this period and have the confidence to keep going and believing that we will score goals."

  10. Manager reactionpublished at 18:15

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester United

"We should have won. It was an excellent performance from us - as good as we have been all year.

"United- and it doesn't happen very often - were probably fortunate to get a point.

"It was a shame we didn't win it but with the run we've been on we needed to take something, so the point was important for us.

"It was really disappointing after the League Cup defeat (at Manchester City).

"It was a goal of ours to win that. The draw was awful and unfortunately we didn't put in our best performance. "We got back to the real Crystal Palace today."

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester United

"We did not keep the ball. That's a very important factor and because of that we didn't create too many chances. I have to say I can't complain about the result."

(on a third successive goalless game) "There's a big concern but I already said that after the second match, especially against Middlesbrough because we created many chances but did not finish.

"(Today) we didn't create so many chances so it's more difficult. When you don't keep the ball you can't create chances.

"We still had a big chance in the last minute of the first half for Herrera and you have to finish that."

  12. Walsall go top in stylepublished at 18:10

    League One round-up

Walsall have gone top of League One after beating previous leaders Gillingham 3-2 in a thriller at the Banks Stadium.

Walsall trailed 2-0 but came storming back and clinched a dramatic win with a late first goal for the club from Cyrous international Jason Demetriou.

Burton also leap-frogged the Gills with a 1-0 at Oldham thanks to Abdenasser El Khayati and Wigan and Bury also picked up wins in the top six.

The Latics left it late to beat Swindon 1-0 thanks to Francisco Junior's late goal while Bury held on to repel a Blackpool fightback in a 4-3 victory.

Bottom club Crewe secured a first home win in 15 attempts to surprise SheffieldUnited 1-0.

    Manchester City 2-1 Norwich

    Quote Message

After 80 minutes of not a lot, the last 10 minutes at Etihad Stadium were probably best described as completely crazy. The Manchester City fans in front of me were going ballistic as their team failed to clear time and time again from Norwich's 10 men and they were hanging on for dear life in stoppage time - it is safe to say that was not in the pre-match script for the Premier League leaders. Don't let Aleksandar Kolarov's penalty miss for the home side at the death fool you - a 3-1 defeat would have been incredibly harsh on the Canaries. They have left empty-handed but enormous credit to Alex Neil's side, who defended brilliantly and showed plenty of attacking spirit too.

    Man City 2-1 Norwich

"I thought we limited Man City to very little, but if you're going to lose a goal away to the top teams, you want it to be from a bit of quality, so to lose one to a set piece is disappointing.

"Then we made mistakes at the back for the second goal and it cost us the game. If people do their jobs properly and do the basics right, the rest of our game has been good."

    Man City 2-1 Norwich

"It was an extraordinary game. Norwich defended very well. The games before Champions League games are always difficult. But we have the character, the personality and the trust to win the game - we are not finished until the last minute.

"Joe Hart is human, he makes mistakes. He has saved us in a lot of other games - he's a good professional, he won't have any problems."

  16. Brighton still unbeatenpublished at 17:50

    Championship round-up

Brighton are still unbeaten but see their lead at the top of the table trimmed after Matej Vydra's equaliser for Reading in a 1-1 draw at the Madejski Stadium.

Hull capitalised by winning 2-0 at MK Dons to extend their unbeaten run to 10 games and of the chasing pack, Burnley, Derby and Middlesbrough all secured home wins.

Rotherham's 3-0 defeat at Derby takes them bottom of the table before the tea-time Lancashire derby between Preston and struggling Bolton.

Sheffield Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest continues Forest's slump and takes the Owls to within a point of the top six.

And Fulham trounced Bristol City 4-1 at Ashton Gate to push the Robins towards the drop-zone.

    Swansea 0-3 Arsenal

"There were a lot of positives in our play and we were exceptional in the first half. We should have taken the lead when we were on top. We gifted them two goals and you can't do that against any team, let alone Arsenal. I'm disappointed to lose, but I think the scoreline flatters Arsenal. We had chances to score and were the better team in the first half.

"They were two poor goals on our behalf that gifted the game to Arsenal. It's a shame because there were so many positives and it looked like we would go on and get a positive result.

"Mertesacker's was definitely handball. The other one was on Bafi (Gomis) and I'm not so sure. I've seen the second goal given so many times as a foul and of course you should play to the whistle, but the goals were poor from us."

    Swansea 0-3 Arsenal

"They took six points off us last year and that shows we've moved forward. The second half we were a different team. After we scored the first goal it was all us and there was only one winner on the pitch.

"I feel they offered a lot in first half, then technically we were on top and we upped our pace in the second half and from then on it was more difficult for them.

"That's what you want (from Giroud). The less we talk and more we play the better we play - that's our job and that's what he does. The second goal didn't look a foul to me, honestly, but I have to watch it again as it's difficult to see from outside.

"Joel Campbell took his goal really well and he is still a young player who had to wait for his chance. He's adapted to Europe, been in a few leagues and come back and I like his team spirit and work rate. To show he can be on the end of things as well gives him a chance."

  19. Ozil assists Arsenalpublished at 17:37

    Swansea 0-3 Arsenal

As we've had a fair bit of stat chat post-match, how about this...

Mesut Ozil now has 14 assists in 2015, more than any other player, by a margin of three. And this is a man who has been accused (quite recently) of being invisible. Yep, invisible until he suddenly pops up in space to lay on a goal for an Arsenal team-mate.

Ozil's assists (he claimed another today) have played a huge part in Arsenal being level top with Manchester City on 25 points.

Ozil's involvement in and around the box played a huge role in Arsenal's win at Swansea. Compare his touches (right) with that of Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson's (left) below...

  20. 'I had a go at the ref - I'm sorry about that'published at 17:30

    West Brom 2-3 Leicester

West Brom manager Tony Pulis: "Leicester did really well, it was a good game and in Jamie Vardy they have an exceptional player. His pace frightened us all afternoon.

"But the referee should have given us a penalty and sent their man off. It shouldn't happen at this level - the standard of refereeing should be better.

"(Referees' chief) Mike Riley should be on the phone asking why we weren't given two penalties.

"I've had a go in the tunnel with him (Anthony Taylor) and I apologise about that. I should be writing my report but I do hope they look at it."
