Charlie: Everyone keeps calling for the days of Ferguson's free flowing football, well I remember the 1989 season, a piece of me died that year, the football was horrific...these things take time.

George: Van Gaal please play Martial down the middle. Rooney isn't working there. If it doesn't work what is the worst that can happen?

Adelasoye: What is it with this obsessive possession based football by LVG? You've got to be direct at times, he's turning Utd to a boredom!!!

    League One latest

There's a goal-fest under way at Gigg Lane where Bury lead Blackpool 4-2 at the break.

The Shakers were 4-1 up but a goal from Clark Robertson just before half-time means a first defeat in seven for the Seasiders may not be a formality.

The top-of-the-table clash between Walsall and Gillingham is living up to its billing with the sides level at 2-2 with the Saddlers coming back from 2-0 down.

Coventry's unbeaten home record is under threat as they trail 2-0 to Peterborough in a match delayed by 15 minutes.

Darren Ferguson's Doncaster are 1-0 up against Colchester.

    West Brom 1-0 Leicester

Here's how the West Brom goal was scored this afternoon. Alan Shearer would have been proud of the way Salomon Rondon peeled away from his marker, Danny Simpson, at the near post.

David: The only winners at the Newcastle v Stoke game are the clever fans who stayed away. It's a shocking display.

Will: Best league in the world they say...

Syed: Despite having so much ball possession MUFC managed to hit just two shots.

There hasn't been a lot to talk about in the 3pm kick offs, apart from the lack of goals...

The cheers from the Norwich fans when Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany put a simple pass straight out of play just before half-time aptly sum up the first 45 minutes, which have been extremely frustrating from the home side's point of view - they have had almost all of the ball, but have done very little with it thanks to the Canaries' defensive discipline. Alex Neil gave a little leap in the air in anger when Cameron Jerome failed to react when Joe Hart played the ball short from a goal kick but, other than that, his side have followed his instructions to the letter.

    Championship round-up

Fulham should have the cigars out in the second half at Ashton Gate as they lead Bristol City 4-0 at the break. Ears will be burning in the home dressing room.

Leaders Brighton are drawing 0-0 at Reading and Hull could close the gap at the top as they lead 1-0 at MK Dons thanks to Ahmed Elmohamady.

Third-placed Burnley lead Huddersfield 2-0 thanks to two goals from record buy Andre Gray while Derby are 2-0 up against Rotherham with ex-Aston Villa man Andreas Wiemann and midfielder Jacob Butterfield on target.

Wolves won the lunch-time kick-off 2-0 at local rivals Birmingham and there are no goals elsewhere on a sluggish afternoon.

Six 3pm kick-offs and just two goals?! As Halloween Saturdays go, this is definitely more trick than treat.

Olivier Giroud is down and appears to be in quite a lot of pain. Not that his team-mates seem to be too bothered. They carry on and get the ball in the box before Mesut Ozil is muscled out of possession. Giroud finally gets some treatment and appears OK. The Gunners could really do without losing the striker. Their treatment room is starting to look like that famous shot in Gone With the Wind, panning out to reveal all the injured soldiers.

Our man Alistair Magowan is watching this game for a dedicated live text. He cannot fathom why Anthony Martial is stuck out on the left, with Wayne Rooney down the middle.

If you're Scott Dann, who do you want to mark? A young, energetic, direct and pacey striker? Or Wayne Rooney?

Former Norwich striker on Final Score

"I don't know what he was thinking? Just put your foot through it, get rid or put it out for a corner, anything. Ighalo was bright enough to anticipate it, but it's a dreadful mistake. I think he's tried a Cruyff turn in his own box, never do that."

Manchester City were already 4-0 up at this stage when Norwich last came to Etihad Stadium almost exactly two years ago, on 2 November 2013. Things have not been anything like as straightforward this time around but the home fans were all on their feet in the 35th minute for a minute's applause to mark the death of season ticket holder and father of two, Chris Shaw, 35, who died from cancer a week ago.
