A look at the number of passes played is interesting.

Liverpool have 331 to Chelsea's 183. Lucas Leiva has played the most with 45, while Cesar Azpilicueta leads the way for the home side with just 24.

Roberto Firmino has been stand-out, completing 91% of his 34 passes.

Hats off to Dominic King of the Daily Mail for laughing at his own premature words on Philippe Coutinho. We've all written someone off only to be put right moments later.

  6. Coutinho changes the gamepublished at 13:38 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2015

The complexion of this match has changed in that moment of brilliance from Coutinho.

Chelsea were quite comfortable as half-time approached but their brittle confidence will now be tested by Liverpool drawing level. Jose Mourinho needs to lift his players now.

Liverpool have been the better team for 40 minutes. If they'd had a striker up front, they could have been ahead easily."

    Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool

Well that goal changes the dynamic somewhat. It's perhaps fitting Roberto Firmino was involved in a small way, he's impressed, but Philippe Coutinho's strike was all about him.

What does Jose Mourinho say now? His side were good for 10 minutes - very good in fact - but the pattern changed and few would argue that Liverpool deserve to be at least level.

Absolutely 100% deserved. I've said all half, if Liverpool have that much space they will create chances. Ramires dives in and misses a tackle. What a difference that will make to the half-time team talks."

    GOAL - Chelsea 1-1 Liverpoolpublished at 45 +3

    Philippe Coutinho

Majestic stuff by Philippe Coutinho and in the third added minute - two were on the board - he curls a sumptuous equaliser.

It's neat link up with Roberto Firmino and Coutinho shapes to shoot from 25 yards but throws a dummy, clearing more space to pick his spot left footed from 18 yards. Asmir Begovic dived but the ball ripples into the corner beautifully.

Jose Mourinho storms down the tunnel and won't even wait for the half-time whistle.

  11. Mason getting the treatmentpublished at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2015

Fourth official Lee Mason is building up quite a relationship with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in the technical area.

Klopp, on at least two occasions, has been in lengthy and animated discussion with Mason - once over a handball appeal against John Terry and another over a foul.

They seem to have parted as friends so far.

    Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

Good ball from the right by Nathaniel Clyne - towering header by Gary Cahill. James Milner chips a cross over, no one there to turn it towards goal. A key example of where Christian Benteke may be better off on the pitch than on the bench. We will have two added minutes.

    Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

Willian resembles a dodgem as he evades three shoulder charges in midfield. Adam Lallana knocks him off balance but Emre Can gets the job done and after three shoulders, finally Willian hits the deck. Free-kick. Possibly the clearest free-kick you'll see today but yet Can puts his arms in the air in shock.

    Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

"Diego, Diego," cry the Chelsea fans. They respond as Diego Costa has a tussle with Martin Skrtel. Costa runs out of room as the central defender squeezes him over the dead ball line.

Costa and Kurt Zouma - with 17 touches apiece - have seen less ball than any outfield player so far.

We can see Liverpool are bossing the territory here but one wonders how much Jose Mourinho will care. His side don't really look like conceding in any way. It's probably fair to say Mourinho's heart is yet to reach his mouth today.

It's half chances at best for the away side.

If Liverpool can keep this up for 90 minutes, they will get chances, and I suspect they'll get at least one goal."

Lovely stuff from Philippe Coutinho as he slides through midfield but he gets blocked off by John Obi Mikel. Given away by the Chelsea midfielder and James Milner will cross from the right, Lucas gets up... easy save. A good header but like Liverpool's best efforts so far, all are down the throat of the goalkeeper.

    Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

Asmir Begovic screams at the back four - urging them to get up the pitch. Chelsea are deep and Liverpool claim handball as a Nathaniel Clyne cross strikes John Terry. Nothing doing.

Still Liverpool push - too much in this instance as James Milner exerts too much pressure and gives away a foul.

    Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

Lucas crashes into John Obi Mikel in midfield with a swipe. Free kick - no way says Mark Clattenburg. It's tackle number three of the match for Lucas who has been putting himself about a bit.

Liverpool work the ball left and Alberto Moreno fires a low cross in but no one arrives in a timely fashion and the ball is smashed away.
