"What a strike! Chris Lynch cuts across the ball and it's swerving and dipping - the goalkeeper takes no chances to tip it over.

"What a moment that would have been for the captain! He will have desperately wanted to be that hero."

    Chris Lynch shoots

Chris Lynch! It was as if Roberto Carlos was a right-footed gas engineer who works nights for a moment! A brilliant, swerving, dipping, wind-assisted effort that needs Trevor Carson to tip it over!

This time next year, we'll (still) be millionaires!

The weather is becoming an issue again now as the ball spends more time in the air than on the pitch. Brian Clough would not be happy.

Hartlepool have shaded possession in the second half, Salford running out of steam it seems. The wind has also played a big part.

Is a draw a good result for the minnows?

Here's another look at that miss from Rakish Bingham. You've just got to score from there - got to!

Even a 2D shape should score from there.

"What a chance for that man Rakish Bingham. It's a free header from six yards out - no! He is four yards out actually.

"He just has to hit the target at the very least - and he knows it himself."

  10. CLOSE!published at 70 mins

    Salford City 1-1 Hartlepool

    How has he missed that?!

Rakish Bingham wastes a glorious, glorious chance to put Hartlepool ahead. Carl Magnay heads the ball across and Bingham is free, four yards out. Just head it in man! You've got the entire goal to aim at!

But he shuts his eyes and puts it over.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 69 mins

    Salford City 1-1 Hartlepool

It's taken a while, and we were wondering if yellow cards had been banned tonight, but now Andy Dawson does go into the book for the latest in a lengthy list of heavy challenges. Hartlepool looking on top now.

Rakish Bingham has made a big difference to the Hartlepool attack, the ball is now sticking up there and they are able to craft a sustained spell of pressure. Two corners both end up at the far post but on each occasion a red shirt is able to block.

  16. CLOSE!published at 60 mins

    Salford City 1-1 Hartlepool

    It was a fantastic save!

But Salford then create their first chance of the half, Richie Allen does well to gather the ball in on the edge of the box and find his man over, he pokes it through to Lewis Hardcastle - and he should score but fluffs his shot into the turf and straight at Trevor Carson. End to end now!

    Salford City 1-1 Hartlepool

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton winger on BBC Two

"Brilliant break from Hartlepool, but what a save! Excellent goalkeeping to stop that with just the one hand - strong wrists. He gets his positioning right and pushes the ball clear to safety."

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 58 mins

    Salford City 1-1 Hartlepool

Jay Lynch makes a great save

The wind is making this a very difficult proposition now, both sides struggling to find a team-mate.

But Hartlepool sub Rakish Bingham then springs into life down the left, his cutback finds Rhys Oates. When his shot is blocked it comes back to Jake Gray, he middles his shot and would fancy his chances but Jay Lynch in the Salford goal makes a brilliant one-handed save!

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 55 mins

    Salford City 1-1 Hartlepool

Where's the next goal coming from? Hartlepool hope from their number nine, Rakish Bingham, who comes on to replace Mikael Mandron.

Mandron did not look like he fancied tonight's game one bit...
